I just love her! I love musicals but I'm not that musical but I've seen so many (an embarrassing amount) and I know for a fact that stage presence and charisma are just as important as a good voice. She has all three!

she'd done a lot of cabaret before she went for Nancy so she'd gotten in some bad habits. Cabaret singers often go a bit OTT she toned it down by the end of the series though, check out Send In The Clowns, that was her finest moment on the show!

actually, not. i don't even k now who jessie is. i'm just an american theatre actor who read seth rudetsky's blog and was curious. i was so excited to see the nancy that was chosen in this overseas competition, and when this came up on my screen, i was genuinely disappointed... i see a LOT (LOOOOT) of theatre, and i'm entitled to my opinion.

Rudetsky has a dry sense of humor towards reality theatre shows so I don't take his comments too seriously. But I agree with musicthefirstlove. I'm an American fan of IDA who was unsure if Jodie could tone down her cabaret style. But she *did* make rapid progress without losing that bubbly personality. I eventually warmed up to her. I believe Jodie can handle the demands of the West End, will make a great Nancy, and deserves to be up there with Connie and Lee.

her versions of send in the clowns and on my own were the most emotional performances of the whole series, to say Sam is better is just sheer stupidity, she smiles even when singing a song that requires a different emotion other than the... "aren't i pretty" bright eyes and smile..

I'm not dissing sam because i love jodie, i'm dissing her because she can't act, the girl can sing though :D
