My childhood was raped when watching this... It is a poorly reconstructed story of the King Picollo Saga in Dragonball... None of the characters are like they were in the show...

I understand that it's hard to fit the whole anime of a few hundred episodes into a small time frame, but this movie was totally one sided. It seems that they just went on Wikipedia or something and read the first 3 sentences and made a movie on it. Piccolo couldn't control the apes! All in all, this movie was complete shit, the acting was terrible, the storyline was completely inaccurate and Goku was white.
I didn't like the movie at all...even though I went into it with an open mind. I honestly tried to give it the benifit of the doubt, but I just couldn't like it.
I can't believe they ruined something so massive and culturally impacting . It's like one of few... or possibly the only animated series that's so religiously followed, with such longevity ... 20-some years. The millions and millions of fans out there were expecting something more on The Lord of the Rings scale of things. DBE is horrible. The producers just jumped on the band wagon of having a teen in high school as the main character. They took what was an amazing and original plot from the base series and turned it into a cliched and overused plot in the movie. I hope they don't make a sequel with Raditz, Vegeta, etc. They'd probably fuck up those characters too :(

My favorite cartoon growing up would probably be the Dragonball series, although I haven't seen much of the original Dragonball and started with Dragonball Z, then GT, then I watched the original.
8/10. I absolutely loved this movie. I don't get why people don't like it. The only reason I can think of is that people don't like change. Whenever I watch a movie, I don't think about what the movie is based after or what it's trying to copy. I take a movie as what it is. I guess I'll never understand why people don't like change because this was one of my favorite Dragonball movies, tied with Wrath of the Dragon. I love the Dragonball series and the real abomination is Dragonball Z Kai.
He may not have been white but he certainly was not asian. you're over thinking this because he cannot naturally change hair and eye color based on opposing colors. He is not human clearly if he can do that and probably has a white face because as we all know asians cannot do blonde while "white" people can do both black and blonde.

It was one of the worse movies I've ever seen. Since when was Goku a lose who wants a girlfriend? Goku didn't even know what a girl was til Chi Chi popped his cherry at some point after the 23rd budokai tournament. And since when was an Oozaru the same height of a person and an ally of Piccolo? It makes no sense at all.

@IcecoldSaiyan88 Dragonball & Spiderman are two different products and your comparing both films as being the same? The difference between them both is Dragonball is set in the future, and Spiderman is set in the present. The movie has to make sense because there is logic behind everything in life. As I said, there was not logic in the Kamehameha. When you unleash a force like that, the science behind it is inertia & force comes into play causing you to stay on the ground instead of going up.
@IcecoldSaiyan88 Cont. - The fact that they failed to implement science behind an attack like that is just simply baffling. Because even though the kamehameha is a different weapon then a gun, they both are the same. When you fire the trigger of a gun it lets off a recoil causing your body to react to the impact of the recoil. There's so much force that is unleashed from the caliber that it pushes the gun backwards and cause your arm to move backwards as well. Now on to Goku.
@IcecoldSaiyan88 You claim that goku was good, when how I see it was a completely different story. Goku in the manga/series was raised originally as an normal saiyajin both ruthless, and dangerous. However when hitting his head coming to earth he forgets all of that after meeting grandpa Gohan and is then raised to be a loving child that would never harm anyone. During this whole time he never went to school, nor did he have any crushes on anyone. He was raised is whole life out in the woods.
@IcecoldSaiyan88 Cont. - As I said earlier in my past post, he even thought marriage was a type of food (this was around meeting Chi Chi for the first time). Another great aspect of the series itself is the fact that Goku never once doubted himself when going into a big fight. Do you think he ever doubted his skills when ever he fought some of his enemies? He did, but it was only for a short instance of that fight and then found a way to overcome the fight. In DBE, Goku was the complete polar...

He literally didn't think he had what it took, and turned this Goku into another Karate Kid comeback story (going from being a no body to taking down said badass and winning it all). Dragonball was my favorite cartoon growin up.! When I heard about the movie I got excited. I never got a chance to see it in theaters, so I bought the dvd the day it came out. When I got the dvd the first thing I noticed was that the case was that cheap plastic (should have known then) Got it home and from the first minute I was screaming at the tv. It was all wrong, It did not follow show or manga one bit (IT WAS NOT EVEN CLOSE)! IT WAS HORRIBLE! DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE! 2 thumbs down

8/10. I absolutely loved this movie. I don't get why people don't like it. The only reason I can think of is that people don't like change. Whenever I watch a movie, I don't think about what the movie is based after or what it's trying to copy. I take a movie as what it is. I guess I'll never understand why people don't like change because this was one of my favorite Dragonball movies, tied with Wrath of the Dragon. I love the Dragonball series and the real abomination is Dragonball Z Kai.

He may not have been white but he certainly was not asian. you're over thinking this because he cannot naturally change hair and eye color based on opposing colors. I saw this movie on HBO and really wanted to see it once I first heard about it, but after I saw the movie I just stood there staring at my screen just thinking that this was one of the worst movies I've ever seen in my entire life! @llaura063 It wasn't that bad? What was good about it? As a stand alone movie it was boring and awful, and as fanservice it didn't even follow the story. It was one of the worse movies I've ever seen. Since when was Goku a lose who wants a girlfriend? Goku didn't even know what a girl was til Chi Chi popped his cherry at some point after the 23rd budokai tournament. And since when was an Oozaru the same height of a person and an ally of Piccolo? It makes no sense at all.

A) Goku never went to school
B) Goku's kamehameha never one propelled him up word while firing it in front of him.
C) The Dragonballs where created by the namekians, and not by some lame ass shamans.
D) Goku never had any real interest in girls, he even wondered at one time in the series if marriage was a food.
E) Oozaru was never controlled by someone, and the Oozaru was the size of a sky scrapper.

Oozaru was not Oozaru, Kamehameha was not Kamehameha, Goku was not Goku, and everything else what not everything else. The difference between them both is Dragonball is set in the future, and Spiderman is set in the present. The movie has to make sense because there is logic behind everything in life. As I said, there was not logic in the Kamehameha. When you unleash a force like that, the science behind it is inertia & force comes into play causing you to stay on the ground instead of going up.

Because even though the kamehameha is a different weapon then a gun, they both are the same. When you fire the trigger of a gun it lets off a recoil causing your body to react to the impact of the recoil. There's so much force that is unleashed from the caliber that it pushes the gun backwards and cause your arm to move backwards as well. Now on to Goku.

@IcecoldSaiyan88 You claim that goku was good, when how I see it was a completely different story. Goku in the manga/series was raised originally as an normal saiyajin both ruthless, and dangerous. However when hitting his head coming to earth he forgets all of that after meeting grandpa Gohan and is then raised to be a loving child that would never harm anyone. During this whole time he never went to school, nor did he have any crushes on anyone. He was raised is whole life out in the woods.

Another great aspect of the series itself is the fact that Goku never once doubted himself when going into a big fight. Do you think he ever doubted his skills when ever he fought some of his enemies? He did, but it was only for a short instance of that fight and then found a way to overcome the fight. In DBE, Goku was the complete polar...

Dragonball was my favorite cartoon growin up.! When I heard about the movie I got excited. I never got a chance to see it in theaters, so I bought the dvd the day it came out. When I got the dvd the first thing I noticed was that the case was that cheap plastic (should have known then) Got it home and from the first minute I was screaming at the tv. It was all wrong, It did not follow show or manga one bit (IT WAS NOT EVEN CLOSE)! IT WAS HORRIBLE! DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE! 2 thumbs down
