The White Stripes are probably one of the best bands of this decade and they manage to do more with two people than most bands can do with five."adding some bass and a horn section" would just make them more like every other generic, boring rock group polluting the airwaves. If you don't think Rivers is angry you haven't heard the Pinkerton album. He won't play any of those songs anymore because he doesn't like where he was mentally then.

I don't think The White Stripes should be compared at all to Weezer though. The drummer in weezer is great as is the guitarist and bassist. I like Rivers aswell but he might be an aquired taste.

Its funny because White Stripes are the consumate rock band. A live show is just a free flow of music. And yet he hates the things that oh, Pearl Jam, Cream, Incubus, DMB, Foo FIghters etc.

All the other great true rock bands in history have done. With non pre-set free flow play. Non of this bloated sanitized set requisistion that you see at a 3 doors down, or Daughtry or corporate rock groups.
