NONE OF THESE ELDERS ARE TONGAN. I posted this video back in 07 and haven't been able to log back in....Our substitute teacher, best friend of our Spanish instructor, taught Tongan. Taught us this one verse of the hymn and we sang on the Sunday before leaving for the mission Chile Vina Del Mar. @vea2011 - Not a stupid question. We all served in the Mission Chile Vina del Mar and this was during our Christmas Conference, right before we all went home. It was a bit of a talent show if you will. We were taught the hymn by our substitute teacher in the MTC. He was best friends with our Spanish instructor and taught us the hymn one day. And we're all gringos.

@Maufanga12 I have dilligently reserached all of the pros and cons of this Church. Mormon history is actually squeeky clean when compared to the history of other Christian religion. Catholism (inquisition, crusades, etc.) and other churches (witch burnings, slavery, mistreatment and mass murder of slaves, civil war, sin justification by faith). As a laywer, every negative peice of LDS "evidence" I have found is generally fourth level heresay and is often nonreliable on its face.

@Maufanga12 I can and have read the Bible in various languages, many passages which clearly were misinterpreted between two languages even in modern times. IMHO, the clearly points to one lord, one faith, and one baptism. God is clearly a god of order, clarity and one doctrine, not one of a disjunctive whole. Ordination and authoirty clearly matter. Christ is clearly not the same person, being, or substance as the father. A plain reading of the NT lead me directly to this Church and no other.

There is nothing more unbiblical than (a) the Trinity doctrine and (b) the belief that faith is equated with mere belief and that works are wholly unnecessary.

I have never failed to receive an answer when praying about the Book of Mormon, the LDS church, or the latter-day prophets. You tell me to do the research, but I have, both pro and con, extensively. There is only one source of truth my friend, and He has answered me beyond question, after all I can do.

What is it that Shawn teaches that is unbiblical, for I have never heard it? Works are important in so much, that it is evidence of our love for Him and it will be rewarded with treasures in heaven, BUT it does not earn one's salvation. Only Jesus and only by the blood are you saved.
Many do good works but do not know Him personally, thus the verse, "I never knew you."

However, it is an error to say that faith is equated with mere belief, there is another element to faith than mere belief. "Even so faith, if it hath not works is dead, being alone." "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."
@manderbos Yes, He paid the price, but that does not mean that He does not require anything from us. There will be many which cry Lord Lord and He will say depart from me, I never knew you. His atonment is not an excuse to wallow in your own wretchedness and faith is not equated with mere belief, there is another element: "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead being alone." The Bible teaches that faith is justified by our good works and everyman will be judged according to those works.

No, but the facts can and probably will. It may creep up on you over the years, or the pieces of the puzzle may suddenly come together. It's different for everyone.
A fact is the truth, that's what makes it a fact! It seems though facts don't support mormonism as you say facts and faith don't go together. Therefore that means truth does not support mormonism.

@Maufanga12 This is the exact opposite from my experience. I was always told by "Christians" that Mormons worshiped Smith and that he was their Alpha and Omega. Nothing could be futher from the truth. I find it a rare Sunday when I hear anything about Smith other than he was a true prophet. NONE OF THESE ELDERS ARE TONGAN. I posted this video back in 07 and haven't been able to log back in....Our substitute teacher, best friend of our Spanish instructor, taught Tongan. Taught us this one verse of the hymn and we sang on the Sunday before leaving for the mission Chile Vina Del Mar. At our last Mission Conference, Christmas Conference, we were all together for pretty much the first time since then and had to sing it......The end.

@tilini No they aren't. We were in the Mission Chile Vina del Mar, and were taught this by our MTC's best friend, as he was one of the only Tongan instructors and our substitute teacher from time to time.

@vea2011 - Not a stupid question. We all served in the Mission Chile Vina del Mar and this was during our Christmas Conference, right before we all went home. It was a bit of a talent show if you will. We were taught the hymn by our substitute teacher in the MTC. He was best friends with our Spanish instructor and taught us the hymn one day. And we're all gringos.

These boys have great voices however the Tongan enunciation does require a little more practice...I will not bag about the Mormon faith. I believe in the highest power and that is my Father whom is the Son and the Holy Spirit. I believe in my faith, that in my own is true and good as I should hope of my existence is of his purpose. Who am I to say that the Mormon Faith is True or False that is not of my judgment. My final judgment will come from my God and only God. Thx for sharing this.

To all the mormons who are currently fighting a battle on these videos, i think its a waste of time. We don't need to be all sour just because people put our beliefs down. OML! this reminds me of my old Tongan ward, when I was younger I would sit with my dad in the priesthood classes and they would be sing in Tongan and where all in harmony and stuff ... naaawww! @Maufanga12 I have dilligently reserached all of the pros and cons of this Church. Mormon history is actually squeeky clean when compared to the history of other Christian religion. Catholism (inquisition, crusades, etc.) and other churches (witch burnings, slavery, mistreatment and mass murder of slaves, civil war, sin justification by faith). As a laywer, every negative peice of LDS "evidence" I have found is generally fourth level heresay and is often nonreliable on its face.

@Maufanga12 I can and have read the Bible in various languages, many passages which clearly were misinterpreted between two languages even in modern times. IMHO, the clearly points to one lord, one faith, and one baptism. God is clearly a god of order, clarity and one doctrine, not one of a disjunctive whole. Ordination and authoirty clearly matter. Christ is clearly not the same person, being, or substance as the father. A plain reading of the NT lead me directly to this Church and no other.

I believe in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, for I have felt the spirit giving me that assurance that it is truth. I know that my Savior is Jesus Christ- and without him- we would not be here on this Earth and there would not be a resurrection. :) I am also happy to know that I am one of many God's greatest creations. I know the Holy Spirit abides in my spirit man. I testify that I have eternal life with God for that reason alone, grace. He did it all, he paid my debt, he bought me. Now I willingly take up my cross(die to self) daily to follow him and do what ever he tells me to do. May I decrease that he may increase.

But your Jesus is a false version of the Bibles Jesus. Every Mormon doctrine is contrary to the Bible. So how is that Christian? You can say you 'testify' like all the other drones, but that does not make it true. It just keeps you locked into a false religion, and not the true body of Christ.

What is it that Shawn teaches that is unbiblical, for I have never heard it? Works are important in so much, that it is evidence of our love for Him and it will be rewarded with treasures in heaven, BUT it does not earn one's salvation. Only Jesus and only by the blood are you saved.
Many do good works but do not know Him personally, thus the verse, "I never knew you."

However, it is an error to say that faith is equated with mere belief, there is another element to faith than mere belief. "Even so faith, if it hath not works is dead, being alone." "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."

@manderbos Yes, He paid the price, but that does not mean that He does not require anything from us. There will be many which cry Lord Lord and He will say depart from me, I never knew you. His atonment is not an excuse to wallow in your own wretchedness and faith is not equated with mere belief, there is another element: "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead being alone." The Bible teaches that faith is justified by our good works and everyman will be judged according to those works.

Nothing could be futher from the truth. I find it a rare Sunday when I hear anything about Smith other than he was a true prophet. Everything is about Christ, his life, his teachings, true discipleship justified by service to your fellowmen.
