best turbo engines are d16's, next inline is b20 non vtec, b18 is out of the question, aswell non vtecs are better for turbo, lower engine speed means it will last longer, and non vtecs have better oil flow because there us no vtec parts

B20 isn't worse than a D16. It's actually much better than the B18. More TQ from down low. It's just not designed for high revs/VTEC application so it needs to be built some. Other than that, it's a good block.

The tranny is from the wagovan, which is a cable linkage. I have a Z6 and it's exactly as mine. Shifter linkage has nothing to do with the engine itself just the tranny which is from a D series

I have a crazy idea, being that the hatched was converted to awd is it also possible to convert to a rwd(for the purpose of drifting) without much modification/cost from this setup. I know very little about mechanical aspects of motor vehicles but I was thinking that it would be a similar setup using the 4wd system but disconnecting the front wheel drive axles.

better tyres, good fuel and paint makes it work out roughly 10-15k.

thats a 400+ hp evo IV/sti/r32 skyline territory.
