Hi Blair!

The BH cosmetics eyeshadow palettes seem very similar to the Coastal Scents eyeshadow palette. I'm new with make-up and I've been considering purchasing the CS one as it's inexpensive and from a lot of reviews as well as yours, they have been given positive feedback.

However I decided to go on the BH cosmetics website after this tutorial and realized they're in fact cheaper than CS as well as providing more and of high quality. What would you recommend between the two brands?

i would love it if you could do a comparison on the same shadow on each eye, but one without a base and one with a base. i always forget to use a base/primer, so i was wondering how drastic a change it is if you do use a base. thanks! :)

@Americnidolluver It's not that it looks drastically different, but shadows adhere much better when you're wearing a base and it prevents creasing. I recommend MAC paint pots; I've tried them all and I like them best. If you're looking for a nude and you're cool toned, try Painterly. If you're warm, try Soft Ochre and if you're dark-skinned, try Quite Natural. They also come in colors. I like Bare Study because it's light and shimmery which is perfect for summer -- I barely need shadow.
