The previous post is a hunk of bull-shiite. The demonstration was not banned by court, is was banned by Mayor Freddie Thielemans, who has no constitutional right to do so. When the organizers of the demonstration took the ban to the high court, the court bailed out in a cunning way, declaring that it considered itself uncapable of issuing a ruling on this matter. The whole thing reeks of political backstage deals.
Organizer Ulfkotte took his case to the Council of State (Raad van State) and that court ruled he could not prove that his interests had been harmed by the ban and therefore it refused to cancel the ban. You can look up the ruling yourself on the Raad van State website.
The gentlemen being arrested here are the number 1 and 2 of the extreme right Vlaams Belang party. The previous incarnation of their party got convicted for racism.
