it's in japan and this is for sure you can see hiragana and katakana with kanji in the subtitles(and only japanese has them all together,chinese have just kanji/ideograms)the one speaking chinese is the only asian guy at the table and in fact also for him there are subs..if he was japanese there wouldn't have been subs..
