I think it has to do with the Import Culture. Import cars are all about "Made in Japan". Ontop of that, Honda is a reliable company with a great track record(their cars don't break down easliy). VTEC engines are known for creating a lot of power from such a small block due to high efficiency. People also go for the overall exterior appearance of import cars and the ability to tune one's car. Its pretty much based on what you like.

purchase a body kit for your car. mine is a 2001 accord se 4dr. all i put on it so far is a "skyline" body kit, 18 in. wheels, an aluminum spoiler, racing headlights, carbon fiber taillights & some decals. hope that helped you out a little.
