GUYS IT TAKES TIME TO FIGHT BIG FIGHTS CALM DOWN U FIRST YEAR U CAN ONLY FIGHT 4 ROUNDS NEXT 6 THEN 8 AFTER THAT U CAN FIGHT RLLY GOOD TALENT I TRAIN WITH DEANTOY AND WITH GUNDRICK AND WITH JAY HE IS AWSOME UNREAL AND UNBELIVE POWER
I understand he was not fighting for a while due to a shoulder injury. Tremendous potential but he's got to bring something better if he's gonna step in there against the Klitchko's.
I'm not suggesting putting him in with one of the top guys in the division (even though the division is very weak), but he should be fighting guys with better than 50/50 records. Most of the guys he's been knocking over are badly overmatched, his last opponent Dominique Alexander had 9 knockout losses on his ledger including being rolled over in 20 seconds by Shannot Briggs! I am all for developing young talents but I have no interest in watching any of Wilders fights at the moment.
This is really disappointing, I thought Wilder had the physical tools and pedigree to be a potential contender in a few years. Instead we are 3 years into his pro career, he's still fighting overmatched tomato cans and acting like a jerk doing it. The only decent dangerman he fought Harold Sconiers put him on his ass, strange how I cant find the footage anywhere. Fights like this cause prospects to believe thir own hype and develop bad habits.
@Balthazar066 wilder got knocked down before ? yeah i do agree he is over rated his combined opposition record is 90 wins and 115 losses thats terrible
thumbs up! Jay Dease is keeping wilder under wraps, the south has a soft boxing comission, and you know really , really good fighters dont come from teh south.
@Balthazar066 He might have the tools but he definitely don't have the pedigree yet. He's only been boxing for 6 years. Only had 27 amatuer fights. He's still learning so putting him up against someone tougher isn't the smartest thing to do for his growth.
@Balthazar066 ya that does make sense... but look at it this way, he boxed for 3 years and won bronze in the Olympics.. and of coarse he is not fighting top boxers yet because he doesnt have the experience that they have.. he has 18 fights as a pro and you look at others and they have 30 and 40... all pros start out like this just give him time - FUTURE WORLD CHAMP
His grand total time in the ring amateur and professional combined is about four hours. He didn't start boxing till he was 20, Floyd Mayweather had more ring experience by the time he was 7. Not to mention the guy is fighting in a tiny arena in a town population less than 200K not making big bucks and taking up time slots on HBO. Chill out, the dude is moving at a completely normal pace.
I hope he turns into a serious contender to the aging Klitschko brother, and help America out, like a Great Black Hope in Heavyweights. I just keep thinking about them building his record up to 28-0 28kos by beating bums and then him get raped by Wladimir Klitschko.....
Deontay needs to fight someone who is regarded as a solid opponent, not necessarily top 10 or anything. I would match him against someone like Ahunanya, who is tough and can beat you if your not careful. But this is almost like a circus.
@emekonen Absolutely! Its time to step it up a little. Shit or get off the pot as they say. Unless, of course, his management knows for a fact the guy cant handle pressure or punches. Then they should just keep doing what they are doing until they get offered a big money shot due to his fancy record, like Peter Mcneeley did.
@dan4579 No doubt. There are plenty of name fighters out there who are past their prime or are just good enough to test him. I do not understand how some boxers are so delusional as to think they are something they are not.
@emekonen I think him and Travis Walker would be interesting. If he can't get past Walker, he should just hang it up and find another career. If he does, I think a James Toney fight would be interesting. Dominick Guinn and Michael Grant should be consider for fights this year as well. Like many said, he's got to step up the competition if he is serious.
wilder needs to fight heavier fighters . . . abron is a light heavyweight at best. He needs to upgrade his tomatoes cans. this does not show anything. he looked good against a mediocre light heavy weight. be interesting to see what happens when he moves up the ladder.
well if someone cant teach him to keep his hands up, then he's done for

By watching this fight, he's going to need another 18 or 20 fights to even come close to stepping up his competition. He looks horrible.

this is the first time I have ever seen him. I have heard so much and finally get too see him. I would rather listen to justin bieber or kesha

Is this Deontay Wilder or Tyrone Brunson?

Wilder is not progressing at all. His opposition is pathetic and he still doesn't snap his jab or understand Distance.
