That poster is printed with trick ink. Normally, a picture would not give this effect, and no real clothing would just "disappear" in the IR like that, though some thin white fabrics will become slightly more translucent. Cell phone cameras vary widely in their IR capability--the older ones are better.

@DMizuho Only if you have a nice setup i.e. a super bright source of IR light (like they presumably do). Otherwise, if you take a standard cell phone camera, even on a real sunny day, and put blank developed 35mm film over the lens, it would be too dark and you wouldn't be able to see much at all.

u can test if u have an infrared camera on your phone by pointing your tv remote at your camera when your camera app is up, if u see a light on your phone screen then u have an infrared camera and it will work

this method works , but on real girls , not on a photo, cause the photo does not have infrared part, in this case the trick was just to use a special ink to make xrayed image and normal ink for clothed photo

Just got mine in the mail they offer two different filters a 750nm and 800nm they do work but it has to be in sunlight and yes thin fabric. Took 3 weeks to get slow delivery cost 37.80 usd
ccd's are naturally more sensitive to the ir side of the spectrum... i would imagine conversely that there are colors closer to the ultraviolet side of the spectrum that would just appear black. I demonstrated this to a friend once by pointing a video camera (that used tape..lol) at a space heater and monitored it on a television as we turned it on. a faint lavender color appeared on the heating elements on the tv monitor right before the visible orange glow appeared.

Now what is happening is that the camera is see the reflective light that is bouncing off of the poster to reveal what is underneath the marker.
Light hits poster, camera only sees that light and ignores the rest.

1. There isn't going to be infrared light coming off of lingerie in a picture when the original camera didn't have the filter taken off, and A picture is one layer

They pointed it at a poster / wall board. If you believe the camera took a picture of the persons underwear, then a separate layer of clothing and put it all into one picture... then you must be seriously mistaken. Whyyyyy do you believe this.

it really works, the reason u cant see through his is because his suit isnt a thin layer of clothing, also cotton is hard to see through, and no im not a perv or anything before any of that is said, its just that cotton can block the IR filters really well

Just got mine in the mail they offer two different filters a 750nm and 800nm they do work but it has to be in sunlight and yes thin fabric. Took 3 weeks to get slow delivery cost 37.80 usd

ccd's are naturally more sensitive to the ir side of the spectrum... i would imagine conversely that there are colors closer to the ultraviolet side of the spectrum that would just appear black. I demonstrated this to a friend once by pointing a video camera (that used tape..lol) at a space heater and monitored it on a television as we turned it on. a faint lavender color appeared on the heating elements on the tv monitor right before the visible orange glow appeared.

lol this is actually not fake.. it is just extremely overexaturated. you can only see through VERY damn thin clothes made of the right materials... only really cool thing about it is that if you have sunglasses with a mirror front, you can see straight through the mirriw front with one of those. the clothes part isnt that fun since it never works on normal clothes

@kamiamm90 Because it only works on thin fabric. The dude is wearing a suit. Most clothing dyes only reflect visible light, but infrared light passes through the fabric and bounces off whatever's underneath. In cases of multiple layers of fabric, the infrared, or anything particularly thick, the infrared fails to penetrate. If the infrared light manages to penetrate the fabric and bounce off the skin, back through the fabric and into your camera, you can see it.

@aznboy3213 Suppose you got me there.If you want to extend the theory,then you can try it yourself.Buy a wii sensor bar and take off the black part on the front then place that on your camera lens of the phone.If it works then you should see through clothes.Before doing this,make sure your camera phone is IR sensitive by cutting the power to the sensor bar on and pointing the camera to the sensor bar.If it's IR sensitive then you will see 5 red lights.If not,you will just see the sensor bar.

Anyone who thinks that the camera is looking through the pictures clothes is a dumb ass. That poster is a poster of a woman in her underwear that they covered with marker. Now what is happening is that the camera is see the reflective light that is bouncing off of the poster to reveal what is underneath the marker.
Light hits poster, camera only sees that light and ignores the rest.
This is real, but most of you are misinterpreting what is going on.

1. There isn't going to be infrared light coming off of lingerie in a picture when the original camera didn't have the filter taken off, and A picture is one layer
2. The bra she was wearing was so thin you would have been able to see through that.
This is possible, I just saw it on discovery channel but this is a fake!
