1983 live action movie is the best although that was made of intentionally amateurish acting (just like a school acting) throughout the whole length ..

This anime is good, but I find it to be very similar to the animation style of 5 cm/Second (which IMO was better), and Summer Wars. Still a good anime and worth watching in your spare time.

WOW what a great movie!! far better than the last 2 ghibli movies together... (earthsea and howl's moving castle) ..and now even the ponyo that I've seen recently was a big load od boringness...

A wonderful movie and seriously underrated.

I just finished watching the Live-Action version from 1983 and it felt very very nostalgic in one way, seeing all the 80's environment, from the decoration, attitude and objects used... as well as it reminded me of how sobby i was on the 1st time i saw the most recent animated version ;_;
