An outstanding improvisation with wonderful ideas; even technically challenging parts seem to be "easy", when you are playing. The pizzicato in pedals during the "silent" part is brilliant. Is any DVD for example of this concert or others available??

I was joking about my improvisations.

I know better than to perform them in public.

But one time while I was improvising on the organ in the closed United States Air Force Academy Protestant Chapel, people quietly entered, sat and applauded when I finished.

Was so embarrassing that they heard that.

That first part sounds much like the Francis Poulenc organ concerto.

I liked the hymn sung by the children.

I like Varnus' playing.

Don't you think the first section is very similar to the Adagio from Toccata, Adagio and Fugue in C by Bach (BWV 564)?

The whole thing is just funny. Bach Adagio followed by Cochereau Scherzo, and then Cochereau Toccata, and then hymn with choir singing.

So may I ask: what really is it? This, I say, is "gesture without content" as Boulez said. Worse - the gestures aren't even related.
