This game show is where I first heard of Bill Anderson. At the time I was a kid and knew nothing of his legendary career as a singer/songwriter. Jim Ed Brown was the same scenario...I only knew of him as the host of "You Can Be a Star" which also ran on TNN. Little did I know then that both of them were legends in country music. I used to watch this show, "You Can Be a Star", "Country Standard Time", "Nashville Now", "Crook and Chase", "Country Kitchen", and many others on the old TNN channel.
Would it be great if there was a talking jukebox similar to Fandango's Edgar on "Family Guy" that would make Peter Griffin, Glenn Quagmire, and Joe Swanson be happy with a surprise when they saw it installed at the Drunken Clam restaurant/bar?
So nice to see this! I used to work for WSM and the Grand Ole Opry, and once had a conversation with "Whisper" (Bill) about the availability of any episodes. He said he didn't have a single one, and wished he did! So I've just emailed him the link. Thanks for the post.
@mtprice1978 I think she came on later in the run, maybe in 86 or something. But either way, Fandango was a great show. Any show that can run for 6 years and still be remembered to this day for great memories, it had to have been a great show.
I remember seeing a few episodes of this show. It's nice to get to see it again!

I still remember misreading the title of the show as "Fongoul" when the show first premiered back when I was 7, lol.

Didn't this come on HBO right after The Sopranos?
MyNephewIsTough 7 months ago
@MyNephewIsTough This was a TNN Original and was dead long before The Sopranos was a twinkle in its creator's eyes.

March 2 1987 was the debut of the fifth season, which debuted the new set, slightly new format, and Blake as the hostess.

I remember this show, as a child. Where is Blake Pickett on the show?
