I just bought this camera online yesterday. It's not arrived yet, but seeing how it handles low light conditions does make me a little concerned as I will be using the camera partly for urban exploration so I'll be doing a lot of shooting in fairly dim locations. Can I just ask: are there manual settings for white balance/exposure/lighting to improve image quality in low light?
I recorded this with low light. This was in my room with a normal light. (not halogen or florescent) But with low light it can be hard to see your subjects and hard for some people with bad sight to see it. More light is definitely a plus for quality and final product. I myself have not had greeny results. But if you can, record with more light. hope this helped. I'm always here to help. Check out my other channel which will have more videos soon.
@ACWWH What is the worst thing about this camera, can we attach an external mic to this thing , can it really record in 1920x1080 , 1080p or 1080i ? how long is the battery life on continuous recording in HD
You should try making vids with more lighting, you get better HD quality. just search on Youtube "Improve video Quality smpfilms" and i think you'll get to a very helpful movie!
Thank you for your feedback! :) It's very much appreciated! I am using a new channel now, so this channel probably won't have new videos soon. But my new one is Techologist.
If it is the camera I have, my camera is basically just on the packages settings or "factory Settings" but It makes a differance if you switch your video quality, There is; from best to worst; XP, SP, EP; You can change it to XP by going to record mode, pressing index, and clicking on XP. Also being focused will give results, this can be AUTO or MANUAL, check the users manual for more information, hope this helps
It records to a big format. AVCHD and the files can get big. If you want it for editing you want to make sure you have like a quad core proccessor of editing will be choppy.
Well the other GZ-HD-- camcorders can record into two diferent file types. But like even with this camcorder you need about a quad core for smooth editing I think. But some people have said that with the macbooks which have a duo core do it fine sometimes. So you might be able to. but on a single core you have no hope. Luckly for you the centrino2 is a dual core. It might work for you. Are you on a laptop?
Well it's just how the HD from this camera is, But I'm sure you might be able to down-convert the files to like an avi and that might work, idk. I could try sending you a file and see if it works,
But I don't want to say because I don't want you getting it and have it not work, But just uploading the files from the camer right to youtube works, but for editing i'm not sure
Yeah you need an intel core 2 duo or greater processor and like 2 or 3 GB of ram. I can't edit it either. I'm getting a new HD computer when I save up though. I got it for the editing :)
I know... It's just that it's kinda new Avchd that is. And it's HD so it needs more stuff so you need like a quad core or a core i7 which is the best right now that you can get.
terrible
