I was home on leave from the Marine Corps when that happened. I was so sure that it had something to do with terrorism when it first happened and i thought I was going to get called back off leave. lol
I was at the Southgate Library when that happened. I was bowling at Woodhaven Lanes earlier and everything was dim for some reason. Downriver Rulz!!!!
I was sick that day and didn't go to work, luckily I didn't have to be out in the traffic. My apartment was so hot that the temp gauge was off the scale! Luckily in Brownstown we got power back 8 hours later. Some people waited 5-7 days to restore thier power in Metro Detroit.
I live in southgate! man i remember that outage. big stuff. the was the 1st power problem (yet the biggest) in my area (dix road northline road) had....that stupid substation on dix road lol

We were at my Mom's in Southgate when it happened. I was very pregnant and miserable from the heat. Wow!
Graduated in 1982 from Southgate High School, by the way. Last class of Southgate Sabers.
