  • this is simply beautiful: sometimes the best things don't need special effects or lights, nor dancers. Just voice and instruments, and a genious behind it.

  • i've always thought that this track was an "Epitaph" for the melancholy "i robot" .. it is soo full of passion and depth .. it stands as a juxtoposition of the whole "i robot" concept .... forgive me for getting all "prog" but its a stunning piece of work .. .timeless :)

  • I've been looking for this song for over a year, but i couldn't remember how it was called.

Thanks for putting this song up:)

  • puffs

  • This guy's name is Peter Beckett and if you want to see him sing Eye In The Sky, with Ian Bairnson and Stuart Elliot still in the band, then drop by at my channel. As far as my eyes can see at the moment, the band is going from bad to worse! These were the good old days in comparison!!

  • Luv this music..a little sad, but wonderful.

    Thanks for the post

    :))

  • I was there, at the National Stadium Tennis Court.

    Unforgivable experience!

  • uhmmm... I will assume you wanted to write "unforgettable" rather than "unforgivable" :-)

  • Indeed.

    Thanks for the note...

    ;-)

  • Forgot: When I was down and sad, these words is all you have to say...

  • Now Im weeping... It is SO beatiful... Thanks for giving.. Sidsel Denmark

  • Man ...I was there. It was fantastic.

    Greatings from Chile.

  • Makes you think......Smiles..

  • One of their best songs, it is so deep, and emotional.

  • he has a beautiful voice and not an easy song to sing live

    he did a awesome job

  • Yes he did, yes he did.

  • YES! YES! and YES!

  • So beautyful it hurts....

  • I saw these blokes in Philly in 1994. An incredibly gorgeous song.... truly emotional.... no matter the venue!

  • brividi

  • mooi

  • Having sung this a few times myself, sustaining the sound can be a pain. It's a beautiful pitch, and so what if he sounded a little shaky/nervous? I'd say this is an excellent live rendition.

  • fantastica

  • The lead IS different. I went back and watched the other video of Mullins (who I like), but this guy is Good! He lets the notes flow on this difficult song. I can't find his identity. Compare. The only reason it matters is that this music matters.

  • Unbeliebably beautiful song......

  • fuck off then

  • What a well mannered man. I am sure your parent (note the lack of plural) is very proud.

  • get a life muppet..............oh btw, i notice that there are many similar replies to mine on your comments page..............i wonder why?......agegist

  • This rendition is not too bad - I think that some of the shakiness is just in the audio track... Being a singer myself I can tell you that this piece is monstrously difficult to perform.... and the drummer is pushing it a bit as well.... thanks for the post!

  • I like this singers versions. He finds his voice about a minute into it. His version of "Time" is great, also.

  • wait so how much singers have there been

  • The singer in this piece is Peter Beckett - I can guarantee this as I have known him since 1984. This was his first live performance with The Alan Parsons Project and his first live show in over 5 years, playing to thousands of people. I agree that you can hear the odd shaky note in his voice but given the circumstances, I think it unfair for him to be criticized for being a little nervous!

  • Genial.

  • That is awful. A great song ruined. Who is that terrible singer?

  • Sometimes different voices changes a song, but everyone can give an special touch. And that's the Idea

  • He isn't terrible, but cannot compare to the original artist.

  • One of the songs of my existence. Collossal. Peace.

  • Song is beautiful .... the most 'beautiful who have written ...

  • Way to buthcer a great song!

  • I prefer the original vocal by Colin Blunstone. This version is good though. This has always been my favorite Alan Parsons Project song.

  • who is this singing ????

  • I believe the original is sung by Eric Woolfson

  • The original vocalist was Colin Blunstone.

I wished I hadn't lost the LP which I bought

    in 1983.

  • Wasn't it sung by Eric Woolfson in the LP?

  • NO.

  • Sorry, you're right. In 1982 it was sung by Colin Blunstone. It was in 2007, when Eye in the Sky was remastered, when Eric Woolfson sang it. I was mistaken...

  • Hi does anyone know where I can get the Audio for the live version as played at the World Liberty Concert?

Need it quite urgently for a family function, many thanks in advance!

  • love this music, this can be the one for my funeral.

  • Original is sung by Colin Blunstone, and he cannot be replaced.

  • I just adore this album.Songs that really resonate each time.Almost like they were recorded in the chambers of the heart.

    Thanks

  • What a great friend you are. It is amazing how music connects us all. God Bless You!!

  • This is an awesome version of this song. I want this song played at my funeral.

  • I'm so glad you have this! I saw this tour too!

  • love this.

  • Dit is PRACHTIG !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • in my life i taste so many tears that i almost thought that life is not really fair, if there's one thing that makes my life beautiful it is because of this song...to the person who have the god given talent to put this words into a song...u are blessed becoz this song is not just an ordinary one, this is really a standout - hail to the composer and the one who interpret the song,i will never get tired hearing this over and over...i even called this as my NATIONAL ANTHEM.

  • I always cry when I hear this song...

  • i have to sing this in my school play but we have changed the lyrics, where it says old and wise, we say mists of time

  • why does this give him 3 thumbs down?

  • thank you

I have no idea why they gave me 3 thumbs down for that

  • That is cool, I dont know why they would give you the thumb down, but I voted up, cause it is nice you do this in your school play, keep up the good works!!!!

  • Ich liebe es.....

  • Damn good.!!!

  • hou van jou per

    xxxxxxsan

  • Who is the vocalist?

  • I think it's Peter Beckett.
