Even Manela, a city with pollution, disease and poverty like no other I've seen, for a fact has one of the best malls I've been to. "Malls", "Big buildings" don't represent the conditions of the people - mainly because most in third-world countries are government built. The second one - Israel has every reason and right for a naval blockade on Gaza. Israel does not have a land blockade - Israel limits trades and movement between Gaza and its own land (every country controls its borders and decides what to do with them...), but Gaza has a border with Egypt. Life in Gaza is better than in most countries in the world.

@upuup obviously you don't know a lot about this conflict. What you're referring to is the incident where Israeli soldiers sent a 9 yr old to check if a bag was a bomb. While this is hotly debated as being immoral, they're being tried and sentenced to prison time. Hamas uses human shields and targets civilians, and there is no justice for them. Even though there were many civilian deaths in 'cast lead' Israel did a lot to protect civilian lives, and DOES NOT TARGET CIVILIANS.

There are many, I mean many, cases of the state pulling trees out from the root, demoleshing palestinian property, forcing people to go trough checkpoints daily, occupying, soldiers murdering people because they threw a rock and therefore is a "terrorist", or because of no reason at all sometimes, the settelers are almost NEVER charged. Israel is the only country who claims that throwing a rock or participating in a demostration is a reason to be shot.

Of course not everything is ideal in the relations between Jews and Arabs in Israel, but Arabs enjoy relatively better rights than any enemy-minority ever enjoyed in any country in the history of the world. About history, palestinians have a rich history which you can read about anywhere, for example in 1915-1916 they tried for independency after a promise and deal with the british, before that they were a part of the Ottman Empire for 400 years. @upuup absolutely NOT the same. Ethnic cleansing is the deliberate use of violence towards a civilian population, in order to remove them from an area. The IDF targeted Hamas leaders and combatants, and as a result of Hamas using human shields there are usually high civilian casualties that are collateral damage. It's not the same. Israel made thousands of phone calls and dropped leaflets to inform civilians that they'd be bombing an area at a certain time, so they could get out of harms way.

Even Manela, a city with pollution, disease and poverty like no other I've seen, for a fact has one of the best malls I've been to. "Malls", "Big buildings" don't represent the conditions of the people - mainly because most in third-world countries are government built. Which are in some instances very corrupt - You can relate this with Hamas. The siege only worsens it for everyone

@upuup Exactly, mister "know it all" - they were CONVICTED BY ISRAEL, which means that those are CRIMES committed by individual soldiers and NOT the normal practices of the army (using civilians as human shields is, however, a common practice of most armies in the world). Their conviction is an argument FOR Israel's morality, not against it.

The second one - Israel has every reason and right for a naval blockade on Gaza. Israel does not have a land blockade - Israel limits trades and movement between Gaza and its own land (every country controls its borders and decides what to do with them...), but Gaza has a border with Egypt. Life in Gaza is better than in most countries in the world.

@upuup You have to understand something basic - the conflict is complex, and you keep bringing up dozens of different issues to portray Israel as the bad guy. I can discuss with you each of those issues, but I don't see much logic with a discussion in which each of us brings different issues to support a black vs white image of the conflict.
Israel doesn't control other countries'water. If you want to discuss water agreements between the sides I can do that.

@upuup obviously you don't know a lot about this conflict. What you're referring to is the incident where Israeli soldiers sent a 9 yr old to check if a bag was a bomb. While this is hotly debated as being immoral, they're being tried and sentenced to prison time. Hamas uses human shields and targets civilians, and there is no justice for them. Even though there were many civilian deaths in 'cast lead' Israel did a lot to protect civilian lives, and DOES NOT TARGET CIVILIANS.

First, there are definitely no refugee comps in Israel (tents in Israel you can find in camping sites, maybe some Palestinians also go camping sometimes). Of course not everything is ideal in the relations between Jews and Arabs in Israel, but Arabs enjoy relatively better rights than any enemy-minority ever enjoyed in any country in the history of the world. They do have some political limitations (like not allowed to support Hamas and other extremist groups) - which makes sense in a conflict.
What about the rights of Jews in Arab countries? hard to know, they ethnically cleansed their lands from Jews long time ago.

Israel should be praised for being moral compared to other, and not to be compared to an ideal type of morality that never existed. About history, palestinians have a rich history which you can read about anywhere, for example in 1915-1916 they tried for independency after a promise and deal with the british, before that they were a part of the Ottman Empire for 400 years. Palestine did exist since there were people living there, had a culture and a language. You can't deny this. In 1871/1872 they were 382.000 people, 85% were muslims.

@QTGbass i would be happy to reply and tell you that palastine and jordan were one country, it was called transjordan during 1921 to 1946 so that means the royal hasmeite of jordan were ruling palestine and at the same the british mandate were ruling palestine, and before the british mandate and transjordan, palestine was ruled under the ottoman syria from 1516 to 1918 and during all these times palastine was ruled by several kings from the ottoman empire :)

@upuup absolutely NOT the same. Ethnic cleansing is the deliberate use of violence towards a civilian population, in order to remove them from an area. The IDF targeted Hamas leaders and combatants, and as a result of Hamas using human shields there are usually high civilian casualties that are collateral damage. It's not the same. Israel made thousands of phone calls and dropped leaflets to inform civilians that they'd be bombing an area at a certain time, so they could get out of harms way.
