  • song name??

  • Hi! Is this by chance available for purchase?

  • Very inspiring! Takes me away!

  • Love how you use watercolor like acrilics in your work Alek

  • wow, this really inspires me to go on painting

  • beautiful!

  • perf

  • wow this is really nice i luv it

  • Great instruction, no speed painting or chatting to distract from the process. I have been thinking of doing a seascape because we live on theTexas coastline. I figured it would involve changing tones but didn't know what to do about the crashing part of the waves and how the sky should contrast. Thank you!

  • Great demo are you still selling the DVD? how could I order one?

  • you should have given credit to the fly when you were painting the gulls, or are you a glory hog???? LOL the painting is great ----

  • how do u make the painting look so easy to draw..you paint with so much flow. At first, it looks terrible but then in the end it looks amazing! How do you do it. Any suggestions for a beginner watercolor painter?

  • Ever noticed bow many artists are left handed?

  • Hi Alek, I just came across your video & have become fan of your work by seeing this video. I would like to see more of this type of video from you. I have seen some artist using Masking fluid for the white color, but you have taught us in direct way, Thanks for sharing this tutorial!

  • You paint like a house-painter, all chalky and clueless. Take a look at some surf soon

  • :D i tried to paint it, but yours is soooooo much better! :D i did mine in 1 hour though.. XD

  • pieknie

  • very beautiful. it seems easy to do. congratulations

  • nice

  • wow! Very inspiring video! Your work is beautiful

  • The music is very calming. Who is it? Don't need to tell you how awesome the painting is.

  • wow d painting is realy amazing! but on what kind of sheet u r working on?

  • Why would you use an opaque instead of the white of the paper? And when did you ever see a mottled sky without its reflection on the water? How many of these corny paintings can you do in a day?? NO SENSITIVITY and poor technique. Why not plan, sketch a few locations to preserve the white instead of your clunky technique?

  • @goatbashing Whats your problem. The man obviously has talent. And as for reflection...when have you seen a reflection of the sky in rough waters like that.A hint of color if anything.

  • Hi Alek. My first try not so good. not so loose as you with my brush strokes. Your paints appear to be contaminated in the pallet and it seems to work very well in your paintings . Your technique in the way you hold your brush is quite interesting, perhaps that is where the fluidness comes in ??. great demonstration and now I have printed the book even better. Interested in why paint the sea first, then the sky, is this way you always do it and why??

  • So beautiful! I would have enjoyed it even more without the music and just the sounds of the sea and the seagulls. It's wonderful though just the same. Thank you for sharing this!

  • Hi Alek. So much looking forward to this dvd. This in particular reminds me of the North Sea, even down to your colours of the sea and how wild it can be there. Great choice of music as is such with many of your articles. Thankyou so much.

  • Hi

you should get the DVD in a few days.

    Cheers

    Alek

  • i wish i could do that... TT^TT

that was really good! and u made it so easy so do.

  • That is truely amazing!

  • good stuff

  • You make that look sooo easy.

  • @CrashMaster44 its based on experience and practice, IT TRULY IS THE BEST SAYING EVER! PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT! i love this anyway so im giving 5 stars!

  • BRAVISSIMOOOOOOOOO.

  • Hi Alek,

Watching you paint is so relaxing!

What do you recommend is the best thing to paint for a beginner (i.e., what would one have the most success with )? And where is your video available?- I'm in Australia.

    Cheers

  • Something that for me is so dificult made to look so easy to do. Lovely.

  • darn i wish i could do stuff like that

  • de las cosas peores que he visto en acuarela. jamas se utiliza color ópaco, eso es de gente poco virtuosa.

  • A pleasure to watch...Thank you

  • Wonderful presentation. ;)

  • thats impressive. i really wish i could do that. i can watercolor a picture, but not as good as you. great job

  • Thank you. Beautiful painting. So relaxing to watch.

  • Hey that turned out great! I love the movement in the birds. How long do u use for making one painting?

  • Thank you for posting this, great music, and great art!

  • What a beautiful painting!! Loved your tecninque! :D

  • I love your work and you make it look so effortless, but I thought using white in watercolor was a no-no. Is it just a matter of preference or as an artist, you can do it because it's considered artistic license?

  • Hej,

I used the white gouache here because this is part of a teaching video and by using the gouache the student learns how waves 'work', and how to get a reasonable result quickly.

Later in the video, I explain how to paint the waves without the gouache. I rarely use the gouache in my own pictures.

  • Lovely!

  • You are obviously a talented artist! Thks for sharing your technique!

  • Really beautiful!

  • AWESOME

  • AMAZING.....thank you for the lesson. I mostly observed your brush strokes...the colours were lovely! wow.

  • the best painted sea i have ever seen. Congratulations from Colombia.

  • Hi, I just came across your video. The painting is beautiful.I am going to try to paint this but I was wondering if you start with a wet or dry sheet of watercolor paper? That would help if I knew. Thank-you

  • Hej

    The papaer is dry.

    all the best

    Alek

  • Hi Alek just wanted to add another comment to your beautiful video ....I painted this last night with only this short clip for reference and viola! I have an ocean however, it looks nothing like your video. The colors did not melt together. possibly the wrong paper? I look forward to your CD book! Keep an eye out for the mail. I will try to photograph and send you what Ive done. Your #1 fan! Shelley

  • WOW...this is exactly what I have been looking for! this is exactly HOW I want to paint you are fantastic! Do you have other works on youtube? A website?

  • I have done this exercise 6 times so far, finally I am getting there with it. Mine looks entirely different, but it looks right!

This picture needs a 'half-imperial'(50cm x 35 cm) sheet for best effect though..

Thanks for the lesson. Appreciated. Regards

    JW

  • Hej,

It would be fun to see your final picture.

can you send it to me.

    all the best Alek

  • beautiful...best i have seen so far..birds are awesome

  • beautiful...best i have seen so far..birds are awesome

  • Thanks for a new insight. I can handle watercolour, but my seascapes needed something. I think you provided that something.

    Regards

    JW
