  • nVidia GPU's such as the 8800 GS are the best for folding. PS3's can't even come close, but they are still better than most CPU's.

  • When ur not playin games, put those powerhouse PS3s to good use by running Folding@Home, found in the network section of the menu. Run by Stanford University, the project aims to find out how proteins 'fold' and therefore lead to possible cures in types of cancer and other diseases.

  • I would like to see someone figure out a way to hook up several PS3s as one unit so that they can work on even more complex equations. Oh and an update that just might be crazy enough to work would allow this to happen Via the internet, where My Wii can lend whatever processing power it has to boost a PS3 or a 360 (think of the Wii as a huge booster pack)

  • Folding@Home is already splitting big work up into smaller packets for home computers & PS3s to work on. The best bet is to just have several PS3s running at the same time - running Folding@Home independently.

the 360 would be worth lobbying Microsoft for a client, but they do have to fix heat trouble first

  • You know what would be awesome? If the 360 and the Wii were able to add their processing power to the mix even though they don't have as much power (in the wii's case way less than the PS3). I could see the Wii using WiiConnect24's always connected to the internet feature to do the processing even when the system is on standby mode. They would just have to allow the fan to turn on when needed though.

  • i've posted a thread at the Folding Community Forums to try and get a Wii client going, but all responses point to the fact that it would be a waste of time - i dont like it, but - not powerful enough to justify many months of dedicated work, beta-testing etc. Stanford already has enough on its plate just doing the computer clients. Sony pretty much did the PS3 client, so i guess its better to email Nintendo to jump on board (if there was gunna be a chance)

  • and with heat and overclocking issues too for the Xbox 360

  • This is really, really great!

The sound is too bad to understand what is said about this client, but the end images about the client are really great!

    I'm waiting :)

Keep Folding! (and developing, of course :D)
