Once the Fed can not longer keep our bond yields artificially low, the interest payments on the debt will crush future budgets. Us as a country doing this spending to "create" jobs is like a small business borrowing $200,00 during and economic slow down in order to be more competitive by artificially lowering its prices. After the slowdown is over, the debt will be a drag on the company; it will make them less competitive.

Keynsian economics don't work. 787 billion dollars will prop up an economy that needs to correct. You don't encourage more debt spending. 4th quarter will have a poor GDP report. Much of the current 3.5% was Cash for Clunkers money. People were encouraged to spend what they didn't have. Medical Insurance should not be the priority. Make people buy insurance? Watch our second downleg begin.

How did it work? Trick-UP economics. Think about it. Trickle-down economics actually focuses on making the rich richer. Trickle-UP economics focuses on getting people to spend. Cars get old and need to be replaced.

The point is it is much easier to get higher economic growth if the government focuses on spending and jobs. The only correction that was needed was for banks to go under.
