If there are boxing programs in countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran and many more Asian countries, there would be more fighters like Amir Khan. People from those parts of the world are tough and are accustomed to hardship. Boxing would be easy for them. His other KO was from severe weight drain, he said he struggled to even stand up before the bell rang. He didn't even make the weight, meaning he lost before the fight began. His KO was just the final straw.

Im filipino, my family liked boxing. Our best fighters during the early to mid 90's were Luisito "Lindol" Espinosa, Gerry "fearless" Penalosa, a retired "bad boy" Navarette, and 1 or 2 others. pacquiao was an unknown compared to those guys.
There were always dozens of fights in casinos which were televised.
Before Pac beat the South African Ledwaba sometime in 2001-2, Our best prospect was Penalosa. Pacman was an unknown before then.

there are plenty of videos on it...after he was seen as a major prospect in the mid 90s all his fights were televised (in the Philippines at that time it was vary rare to be on TV if your a nobody)

Alot of Khan fans are now dissing n talking shit about Victor Ortiz but they forget that Khan was knocked out cold at Lightweigh in the 1st round n that hes moving up 2 jr.welter which means harder punchers that will probably break Khan's jaw.. Hes fast n skilled n he'll go hang in there with the best of em until he gets hit in the chin then its night night.. All of u Khan fans that think he'll destroy Ortiz , Khan should fight Maidana n we'll see how he does.. I see that fight lasting 30 sec..

...I'm a big time Roach/Pacquiao fan. But, I am very impressed with Khan's speed, coordination, and athleticism. If I were in his corner, the only thing I would worry about is his chin. But, his defense seemed to have improved greatly for the Barrera fight. Perhaps the Khan-Roach combination may be a winning one!
