  • i admit i am stupid on certain subject (like doctor is stupid on building house, and carpenter stupid on medicine) , so your point?

god wanted to give everyone who didnt worship him ETERNAL TORTURE, if you didnt see anything wrong with that then something is really wrong with you.

everyone go to hell? XD no religious people ever wanted to answer that straight, they always avoid this lol.

if i do good deeds but said "FUCK YOU GOD" , (according to you) do you think i go to heaven?

  • @superstd Hating God while also Loving Goodness is logically impossible. That's like hating the truth but loving facts. If God exists, then God is goodness itself. This is ancient Christian doctrine. 1 John 1 "God is light, in Him there is no darkness at all." So if you want God out of your life, then you want goodness out of your life. That sounds like Hell to me.

  • @ApologeticsBenJoiner

have you even READ the bible? are we talking about the same guy that condone the killing of a whole town people, babies, old man and take the virgin for themselves in the name of god? (sick)

sorry, god IS the manifestation of evil , even devil in the bible is not as mass murderer as god.

id rather god stay as far away for me to be a good citizen.

how sure that "your" god is the real one, you probably brainwashed by indoctrination.

  • @superstd We adults are only morally superior to a few, and only have the right to decide death in those cases. An easy example would be Hitler. But God is morally superior to everyone, and therefore has the right to decide when everyone dies. Everyone deserves to be killed by God already. When God doesn't do this at the first evil thought, God is exercising His right to give a offer forgiveness. It seems logical then that everyone who dies has already made up his or her mind.

  • just 1 question :

do you believe everyone who doesnt believe in your god and worship him will go to hell?

    straight answer please -_-

  • @superstd That's like asking if my mom knows that I'm stupid. Come on straight answer please. I believe absolutely no one worships and believes in my God. Therefore everyone deserves to go to hell. This is basic Christian doctrine. Everyone who receives forgiveness will get to go to heaven even though he or she has failed to believe in and worship God

  • my advice is : GET TO THE POINT !

no one give a crap about your life (unless its wacky)

    what a waste of time.

point is, you still believe in a god who punishes his childen for gods own mistake.

    example?

a parent who give a baby a loading gun and told the baby to not touch it, but didnt put the gun in a safe place but in open space where the baby can get it, now that is reckless and a crazy parent.

  • @superstd How could God possibly give Adam and Eve any ability to believe what they want without also giving them the ability to bring sin into the world? What does it matter if there's a tree? How can the ability choose one's beliefs not include the ability to believe in something wrong? Why do Atheists pride themselves on the freedom to believe as the wish, but then reject God because He isn't there taking away that freedom. Why do people keep hating God for not being a thought dictator?

  • @BaneOfAzrael Hmm, interesting. I'm curious about G. Why would God make people curious?

  • @BaneOfAzrael This is what I think you're saying. Correct me if I'm wrong. "God told them not to do it but he didn't tell them that doing it was bad." Is that what you're concluding from your points?

  • @BaneOfAzrael Didn't he tell them not to eat from the tree? Isn't giving a commandment giving knowledge of good and evil?

  • You can interpret the bible until your ass bleeds, but I'm not going read it until God get his shit together and says what he means. I'm just kidding. There is no god, and I'm not going to read the bible. When something says a bunch of crazy, inconsistent stuff, it's probably a bunch of crazy, inconsistent stuff.

  • @BaneOfAzrael Can you show me an example of this?

  • idiot

  • Greetings - Did you purchase and read Sagan's Daemon Haunted World? I would like to hear your review? Regards

  • @1Skeptik1 Not yet. Waiting to finish the book I'm already on. I'll let you know though.

  • :) What the fuck did I just watch?

  • mmmm the first 5 books of the bile was written by moses. Moses was the leader of his people. Moses needed more power over his people's minds. And you believe it??

I have a bridge in London I would like to sell you.

  • Genesis is Misinterpreted?? I thought the bile was the literal word of god or summin' like dat

  • it's awesome how you can screw the original meaning to make it look less reatrded.....:D

  • I took the time to listen to your story, but you seriously don't have point. I think donfishmaster (below post) describes perfectly why..

Why you need 34 minutes to tell us this, is also not helping to make people think otherwise.

  • WOW, talk about a stawman argument!!!

Your "question" is absolutely backwards. The REAL question is, "Are the writings in Genesis 1 supported by the best evidence we have available?" You seem to have turned it around by essentially asking if our best evidence is supported by your bible. The bible is your claim--your assertion--it is NOT evidence! When you use Genesis as evidence you argue from ignorance about how the bible was written, what it contains, and the nature of scientific inquiry.

  • Hello Ben - i Iook forward to your comments on Sagan's Daemon Haunted World. Regards

  • My young friend, based on your analysis do we agree the bible is a book of confusion? Fact is the "bible" is built upon a collection of stories told around the camp fires at night by the ancient Hebrew. These tales served to instruct, entertain and form a tribal idenity (no different then the myths of any other society of the period). Some of us believe in magic, others don't. Should I claim to be 150 yrs. old, you would justly question my honesty - do so with Genisis. Regards

  • @1Skeptik1 Genesis being questioned..... of course you are 100% correct. The problem I run into is that people won't question Genesis! Group "A" presupposes the books divine origin, and goes to Church to better understand what has already been decided. But group B presupposes that it us untrue and then spends lot's of time studying that. They come up with all sorts of wisdom about how "it's a campfire story" and "a confused mishmash of oral traditions" but never ask if it's true.

  • @ApologeticsBenJoiner Greetings - I would further argue the bible is many things, but all considered suggest it best viewed as the "Holy" book of the bronxe age Hebrew and little else. Some of the tales historical, others embellished, still others usefull metaphor, others bizarre and savage. "Religion is true to the common man, false to the wise man and usefull to the politician." Observation of Seneca, 1st. century Roman scholar and teacher. It is still so. Regards

  • @1Skeptik1 How can one tell if you're right?

  • @ApologeticsBenJoiner Right? Be happy to defend my conclusions, be delighted to find I am in error, learn something new. Truth and science indifferent to religious or political dogma. Regards

  • @1Skeptik1 I don't usually do apologetics based on the bible. I'm usually dealing with whether or not God exists. But I have been meaning to start and I've learned more from atheists than anyone else. I think the best starting point would be the biblical recording of the death burial and resurrection of Jesus. What is the best explanation of what we have in the Bible there? I'm not even sure what explanations there are!

  • @ApologeticsBenJoiner Greetings - We might consider the "Jesus"resurrection story in light of the older atonement ritual of YOM KIPPUR. (a high holy day celebrated by the ancient Hebrews where the priest annually cast the sins of the faith full upon an unblemished goat, then sent into the wilderness to die) IMHO - the former no more/less

effective in pardoning a transgression then the later, the power is but a matter of a magical belief. Suggested reading: Evolution of GOD by Robert Wright

  • @1Skeptik1 I'm looking for an explanation of the facts. You've provided more facts about the temple sacrifices but what is the explanation of the facts? The new testament goes into great detail to explain the very facts you've mentioned. So any alternative explanation to theirs must be compared to theirs.

  • @ApologeticsBenJoiner My friend - I repeat - Man has and continues to worship false / imaginary Gods. This is FACT. You were born atheist, acquired your religious world view after indoctrination by family and community. Religion is a business, a tool wielded by politicians and tribal heads for countless generations. The tales of the bible are tribal lore, the cosmology laughable. I invite you to do some research, read the scholars I mention. Regards

  • @1Skeptik1 Alright, your point 1 I totally accept but I add that not all Gods are imaginary. For point 2, being born atheist is irrelevant to whether or not one should be atheist. You are also born pooping your pants. As for the geography of religions, this proves nothing if there really is an planner over the cosmos. As for point 3, religion being used by politicians would be more likely to happen if there were some truth behind it.

  • @ApologeticsBenJoiner For more on the geography of religions, this is not a good area for testing God as an explanation because the God explanation has always included a great "plan." The early church saw the finger of God in all of history with Christ as its central figure. The problem is that without some prophecy, the plan is largely mysterious and a wide variety of things can happen that fit the explanation. This is not a good area of testing.

  • @ApologeticsBenJoiner A point on prophecy: Ask a Jew about "their" prophecies being full filled in "Jesus", you will discover quite a different view. If memory serves - Amha (Hebrew - young woman) was twisted into Parthenos (Greek - virgin) in the familiar birth tale. Bible? - Contents (chapters) have come and gone, it is a Catholic church secret what books were included in Constantine's first 50 written in the 4th. century. Other popular early works excluded. (gnostics) Regards

  • @ApologeticsBenJoiner Gretings - Delighted you are not completely closed minded. YHWH has a history if you have the courage to investigate. Again - Robert Wright's "Evolution of GOD" is recommended. The first half especially good! You will be amazed at how much you don't know (no offense intended - just an invitation to broaden your perspective). Sagan's "Daemon Haunted World" an excellent adventure in critical thinking, a close look at bogus beliefs past and present. Regards

  • @ApologeticsBenJoiner Recommended reading: The Daemon Haunted World (Sagan), a masterful exercise in critical thinking. Other authors: Jack Spong, Elaine Pagels, Marcus Borg, Karen Armstrong, Dan Dennett, Sam Harris. (all on you tube) GOD exist? Consider: 1. Man worshiped hundreds of imaginary "GODS" for thousands of years. 2. Children are born atheist, adopt the "religious" perspective of their community/family, no matter how bizarre or savage. (circumcision a case in point) Regards

  • @1Skeptik1 I think I'll buy the Carl Sagan book. It's just $12 on Amazon and I need a new book to read.

  • @ApologeticsBenJoiner Excellent! I think you will find it a thought provoking easy read, a must for any one that cares if what they believe is true.. Hope you enjoy Regards

  • This is truly one of the saddest things I've seen on youtube. Ben, you seem that you have good intentions, and so I won't ridicule, mock, or belittle you in any way. But I honestly find it sad that your mind is imprisoned by the constructs of religion, faith, and the idea of a omnipotent/omniscient creator. I don't intend to go back and forth with a debate, but I do hope you experience some meaningful consciousness raising, soon.

  • As Bill Hicks once said: Why is it that all people who disagree with evolution look the least evolved?

  • Let me throw in my own two cents: If a all powerful and knowing book is proven wrong by man, then it is a good base to question the rest of the ideals.

    That is all.

  • 0:25 to 0:36 he pretty much tells you he was brainwashed and that he never thought to think for himself. Why watch the rest of it?

  • You kind of look like the guy who shot Rebecca Shaffer.

  • fucking yeeehaw.

  • Because I love metaphors and similies and I understand most of the parables and the only thing I noticed was how we discovered atoms and God made Adam and Eve, but I don't know if their names changed in the King James version or not? I rap and I had a dream where I was rapping "Adam n Eve with an atom anatomy" and that's what made me notice it...but I think about this stuff all the time so it was probably just some subliminal connection I made

  • I understand what you are saying about the puns because I thought I noticed them too sprinkled across different passages. Not those but some of them were almost like conceptual puns, I guess. I'm agnostic/whatever/confused and I wonder why a bible was made during their time and then a New Testament, but never a book for us? Wouldn't God know all the confusion of today? We wouldn't even be the same society today if there was just an updated bible and why couldn't God make puns that pertain to us?

  • DEFINITION; Incoherent-Lacking normal clarity in speech or thought; unable to express one's thoughts or ideas in an orderly, inteliglble manner usually as a result of emotional stress. (from dictionary) Brainwashed by "religion" to the point that they babble nonsense -er "faith" that defies any kind of relevance or logic. (mine)

  • @HonkytonkSue2 i think that the videos message was clear in speech and thought. just saying. and since wer brain washed and babble only nonsense could you be so kind as to tell us what logic u accuse us of defingand how we do so. the reason i say this is becuase u have basically said that this is stupid without telling us how it is stupid. would u explain youself please?

  • INCOHERENT, IGNORANT RAMBLING, with a southern accent , no less!!

  • @HonkytonkSue2 how is it incoherent?

  • the point of Genisis is NOT to tell us how we were made . when it refers to the creation of things like say the sun it refers to the creation of some ancient pagan sun god. you see the sun was worshipped along time ago as a god. when Genisis says that God created the sun it means that it created the thing that people were worshipping. the point of Genisis is to tell the readers who worshipped these things that their worship was worthless, and that they should not worship creation but God

  • @warrior716821

Go watch the magic sandwich show to find how you are wrong.

  • @MitchofSmeg could u not maybe take the time to explain yourself, instead of casting insults?

  • @warrior716821

Insults? No insults there, its a genuine show hosted by pdrjones aronra and several other guys who know a whole lot more on the subject collectively then you or i.

  • @MitchofSmeg would u care to tell us why u dont like the video, and what is it u disagree with?

  • @warrior716821

You seem to be doing the obvious fallacy, first you claim i insult you, then when it is made obvious i didnt you start asking me to show how i am wrong without even going to watch the thing i recommended most likely (as you would of gotten the answer there) thus you are obviously never going to accept any answer i give.

  • you make Christians look dumb as hell, literally.

  • My brain hurts when you speak. Please, stop. You are NOT helping make christians look smarter. You are doing quite the opposite. You are not helping to prove that the Bible contains any scientific proof of a creator beyond it's own biased text. Sorry for the negativity but for your own sake: STOP TALKING.

  • @normalityisahoax

he isnt trying to prove the bible contains scientific proof. You have misunderstood him and misunderstood Genisis. the point of Genisis is NOT to tell us how we were made, when it refers to the creation of things like say the sun it refers to the creation of some ancient pagan sun god. you see the sun was worshipped along time ago as a god. when Genisis says that God created the sun it means that it created the thing that people were worshipping.

  • None of this proves god exists.

  • I knew this person was dumb before he'd finished uttering his first word.

  • No Christian I know thinks Genesis explains "how" god created anything.

The ancient hebrews obviously thought light was independent from the sun based on genesis, but it is still impossible to find babylonian worship of "light." Maybe this false view wasn't shared by them..

Why people waste so much time researching an ancient account of creation when modern textbooks exist is beyond me. What are you gaining but pointless debate topics? You can only assume what was truly meant.

  • Ben - I put it this way. We are less wrong today than we were when the bible or information the bible used before it. So trying to make an ancient book relevent today will only make its proponants appear desperate and disingenuous. Genesis we know is wrong, it could never have happened the way it is described.

  • "I took the time to not jump to conclusions." I hear this so often from Christian friends. If I would only delve deeply into the Bible, I would see that the knowledge I've gained from the field of science has cast a veil over my understanding of the "real" truth. As to the bulk of your arguments, I respect that your interpretation of Genesis is what it is, but your views are not shared by a large number of Christians. There are many who pray for your misguided thinking, or even hate you, sadly.

  • @mistermellow001 I basically agree with everything you've said. I believe Jesus died for people's right to be wrong. If something is the truth, then it doesn't really matter who likes it. People don't change as fast as we'd like, but they can and do come to accept the truths that they don't like.

  • @ApologeticsBenJoiner I'm probably going to regret this but, I'm a Christian in the sense that I know and believe Jesus died for my sins and everyone else. But other then that I'm a human, fully against religion and the bullshit propaganda. It's all about relationship for me: with God/Jesus, friends, family, myself, etc. Following the values of human existence is crucial.

  • @Mcdovin1 Hmm, believing in Jesus is pretty religious in most people's eyes. Atheists are especially fond of saying so. I'm interested to see if you can elaborate on what you mean.

  • @ApologeticsBenJoiner What I mean is, I don't choose to follow what a religion says I have to. I do what I feel is the right thing at the current moment.

The reason I don't say I'm not a Christian is because I follow Jesus teachings from another perspective; outside the box; between the lines. I feel his Love and Compassion in my spirit. I'm no saint though.

I am however, very open minded to other people's beliefs. I disrespect the close minded bigots who blindly follow cult like religions.

  • @Mcdovin1 Are you open minded toward being closed minded?

  • @ApologeticsBenJoiner That's a conundrum in itself :P

  • @Mcdovin1 Exactly, the point is that everybody has rules he or she lives by. Everyone thinks some things are immoral. The question is not whether or not to have rules, but rather which rules are the right ones. So the question is why you live by personal feelings alone without religious teaching? What led you to be convinced of this?

  • @ApologeticsBenJoiner

Cant science be used to help decide which way to live life is more conducive to human wellbeing and flourishing? How could religious teaching to this - it is biased to its own standards, were science is only is a method and not a world view.

  • @benaberry What is human well being and flourishing?
