  • It looks fucking European!

  • @trinimark123abc Gee I wonder why dum dum could it be they imported it from european Ford div. I'm getting one so I turn it into a day tripper.

  • This guy somewhat reminds me of Nelson Aspen.

Anyway, this looks like a great vehicle but it would be awful having some many tall vehicles/taxis on the road.

  • Ok, let's come down to earth and the reality of this van.

1st will the warranty be valid and who is able to work on them-NOT OUR MECHANICS.

I see companies not buying this due to the down time they would have to give when (not if) this van breaks down. They will have to wait till the police buy them, put 100k miles and by then somebody will know how to work on them (repair) and not just some "take your time-it is warranty work" mechanic.

    2. Cost is high

  • IT's the same engine that is in the Ford Focus.... It should be easier to work on than the 4.6L SOHC in the crown vics.

  • That's pretty cool.

  • o finally these look way more managable than those giant crown vic's I also can't wait till the ev transit comes out finaly bettering our carobon footprint.

  • someone should have done the gene pool a service and put a carbon footprint in your mom's gut

  • dosnt look as comfy as the Victoria seats

  • They should put a third row for more passengers

What is behind the 2nd row seats right there

    it looks like a cage

  • @TCB They could put seats in the back, but for some reason (maybe crash standards?) Ford hasn't designed a TC with 3 rows.

Also, the cage is to provide a petition between luggage and passengers.

  • @bg1379 they have minivans for 3 rows. this is suppose to replace the sedan taxicabs. i think it would overall just be better to put laws in place where all new taxi's should be hybrids or electric cars like the law in california

  • @gephross

Ford hasn't had a minivan in years, and I really don't think that its supposed to replace the Crown Vics (most of which are bought from police agencies for next to nothing, which is why they are often Police Interceptors). Overall, as a taxi, I don't think that this will do too well.

Also, I agree about the hybrid thing, I bet that they are working to put the Escape's drivetrain in there. Electric taxis don't really work, though, because the batteries can't last nearly all day.

  • Much better.

  • would b interesting to see these around nyc instead of all the crown vics and towncars

  • I love the Transit Connect!

  • Me too! I also think it would make a great car for taxi service.

  • The Crown Vic' taxis are the last icon of NY streets... Replace that with a Transit and it will definitely look like a huge London

  • If anyone has ever been to Manhattan then you know if just half the taxi drivers switch to this then Ford will have sold a crap ton of them.

  • I'm sure this is great news for Taxi companies to help with gas prices and such.

  • that green leaf looks a little interesting?

  • hhhhhhhhhhhh

  • This is great but I'm fairly certain that they showed us this model before they even started selling the TC. . . back at last year's NYIAS.

  • i kinda find this interesting

  • whats up with that copyright shit?

  • I'm sure you can convince the dealer to throw in the beaded seat cover.

  • And the Golden Crown on top of the Dash.
