I had just put it on and wanted to try it out. I was headed to the dunes the next day and they are only about 150 miles from here. I switch back and forth for sand and regular riding.
It is hard to put the tire on, because the sidewall is really short compared to a regular tire and makes it really stiff. I tried to change it over on the floor of my garage, but ended up getting a shop to do it for $20.
hey u live in alberta i live in edmonton i go to bruderhiem sand pit it has lots of deep sand but also has gravel and some dirt can i use paddle tires on gravel and a little bit of dirt too. or a wood jump. and did you have to take off your mud flap to put the tires on. i have a kx125. please answer all my questions thanks justin im 13/
You can use your paddle tire on sand, that's what they are for. If you use it on gravel, it will get chewed up and ruined really fast. There is not much rubber to protect from punctures in between the paddles. I would not recommend it on a wood jump, it will be VERY slippery and just spin and you will crash. You do not have to take the mud flap (I think you mean splash gaurd in front of the tire) off. If you go with the 6 paddle instead of the 8 paddle tire, your bike will turn it.
that is an ok tire to have, but there made just for sand, i know a couple of guys who bought some and there like, this is going to be great for mud, but the thing with those is that once they get a bit worn and you hit a sharp rock with them, the paddles like to fly off.
You are totally right! Where we ride with them, you have to go down a trail in the woods, and ride along a rocky riverbed. That's really hard on them.
ya, i cant justify getting some, cause i only go to some small dunes once a year and around where i live there is no sand and the river beaches are all rock so it kinda sux. :(
Where abouts do you ride? I go to Brule Lake, Alberta, just outside Hinton. There is also Vega, Alberta. The tire was only $60, but the biggest pain in the ass is switching the tires back and forth.
i ride around medicine hat, alberta, im in the lower south east corner, i go to the great sand hills in saskatchewan to ride, havent been there this year though, my friend there moved away so i cant go riding on his land.
U are a dumbass for riding in Sandels and using that tire in the grass!

you are ruining the tire and your money, why do you want a paddle tire if there are no sand dunes in 500 miles from you.
