  • You should know that Road Authorities never provide any guarantee that roads are in good condition, when you drive on any road you wear the Risk not the Road Authority. Road condition can vary from place to place, but typically poor road condition is usually due to a lack of investment in road maintenance and rehabilitation, it's more to do with those who control the purse strings, not the blokes who are trying to make do with what they have.

  • Have seen rims that have large chunks out of them from this very hole...and I guess many more that have also come to the same faith. The holes we are referring to were there well before any flood damage occurred to the surface, and 6 weeks or more were still there. VicRoads can thank there lucky stars that no one was killed from the lack of maintenace on these roads, someone told me they wait on the drivers to report problems, sorry that is not good enough, they can pay me to do it. good evidence.

  • Mate, send your video with a bill for your rims and tyres as well as the cost for a 4 wheel alignment to Vic Roads for compensation! They have to pay based on the evidence you've got there bud!!!

  • @djjohnnymusic VicRoads reply, all go this>

Please note that VicRoads is not liable for all incidents that may be caused, wholly or partly,

    by road conditions.

Our investigation of this matter confirms that VicRoads has complied with its inspection,

maintenance and repair obligations as set out in its Road Managernent Plan and policies. A

copy of the Manage, rnent Plan and policies can be obtained from VicRoads' website

We recommend that you seek legal advice before taking this matter further.

  • hopefully no one will get killed before this is attended too.

  • that is a bloody disgrace, how a huge prang has`nt been caused by this is amazeing, they are very good at fining us for doing more than 3 k`s over the limit, and we are told that its lethally dangerouse to do that !!! yet it seems that road maintenance has been put on the back burner all over the state, if your in Melb the road gangs that once we used to see putting down new hot mix surface periodically seems a rare occurence.
