We opened the battery and did indeed find buttons cells. There was, however, one tiny little problem... they started to SPONTANEOUSLY EXPLODE!!!!!!! I'm glad my son wasn't holding them when this happened.

Everyone who said that they got burned by acid, please make sure you're NOT using a standard AA 1.5 volt. This is VERY different. Like Kipkay said, make sure you're using an Energizer A23.

There are quite a few batteries that go by "button battery". I almost bought the A23 until I noticed my needs were for the ac13 and not a 394. Had to read the 394 from the battery pack shown. Be sure what you need. You are lucky that $40 worth of batteries used were all the same 394 size.
