Heh, I just beat Crisis Core recently and after seeing the game's ending I like to put a new twist on Aerith's death. Sure it's a sad scene, but now I like to imagine Zack's hand reaching down from the Lifestream for Aerith as her body slowly sinks, much like how you see Angeal's hand reaching down for Zack in Crisis Core's ending.

I don't normally do this whole "shipping" thing, but if I HAD to say it, I'd say my preferred FFVII couples are "Zack X Aerith" and "Cloud X Tifa."

The guitar kinda suits Aeris a little more. (I've played FFVII since release, I'm calling her Aeris because if I call her Aerith it sounds like I have a retarded lisp.)

Anyway, the guitar suits her a little better than a piano does, but as this is easily my favorite piece of music... ever... I have to say I can't pick which I like better.

Crisis Core is undoubtably sadder than FF7 ever was.

I'm a grown man and I poured a goddamn river during Zack's fight+final moments (the ones with aerith). I wasn't feeling it for Cloud by the end. All I could think about was the whole: "he's about to get to Midgar and see Aerith again!", even though I already knew he was gonna die beforehand.

This version tends to conjure up happy memories, while the piano version is the reminiscent version, if you know what I mean (the sad version in other words).

IMO there are at least two groups of Tifa fans who like her for different reasons:

Group 1: People that only like her because they think she's the sexiest character in the whole FF series (helped by the fact she's got large breasts and an outfit that shows quite a bit of skin).

Group 2: While Aerith dies at the end of the first disc, Tifa is with the party the whole game. Thus players can get more attached to her, especially since Tifa's the one who finally breaks Cloud of his shock.

There's a fan (or maybe official?) translation out there somewhere, and she told Zack to his face that she didn't love him anymore. She has another book called Lifestream: White shared with Sephiroth's Lifestream: Black. In it, she is referred to as Cloud's koibito/sweetheart.
