I await this full video...For now I'll ask if I'm getting this:
-Petrified Kratos *upon flash appearing or a little after...but NOT at just any point?*
-Pause
-Cycle
-Unpause
-Draw Bow/Head
~It requires all of this or it will not work...is that accurate? I suppose I could test that upon reaching the Endurance Run again...Regardless. Great application, great find.
For the best chance of success, YES, that's roughly it. Also I think a subweapon must be equipped (otherwise I think the cycling is redundant) prior to the attempted petrification.
I have done it with late pauses and without drawing the bow/head.
Not sure if the TB/EH use is essential. It may be if the pause is "pre flash"
Cycling attempts once block/parry is pressed *minigame prompt* result in instant petrification.
Within 20 min I hope to have a vid up of a successful free "shakeout"
This vid only shows reversal of outright petrification.
It doesn't show the main benefit of this trick which is that it allows you to execute either MotK, PS or DR knowing full well that the freeze attack should hit you but that it will be negated. You follow? I intend to show its true usefulness when I upload my vid of the full fight.
Let's not forget a PAIN+ run where you aren't allowed RotT or Fleece usage...so a find like this would prove quite useful so long as one has the tools needed (TB/EH and at least 2 subs for "cycling")
Unless I (or others) can improve upon the reliability of the technique then it would be more for show than a first choice Gorgon handling (still not tried it with others, only Euryale) I wouldn't risk it in PAIN+ without the backup of RotT, in case the free shakeout doesn't happen. Sometimes it doesn't but then again on some restarts (very rare) my game won't pause (start) pressing select remedies the problem.
Since RotT isn't an option and this is all about subs (Cycling)...I suppose it wouldn't work for the PAIN+ but would be a good last resort for a PAIN run.
~The old 'start' not working issue? I also press 'select' to remedy this. I do not think it is the controller's fault entirely.. as the new one I got did that right away... another cute GoW glitch I suppose
Wow I didn't know Medusa was so flexible and clearly knew a lot of acrobatic moves. lol!

where the statue remains.

Excellent. I'll test later. Zeus awaits me after I finish my internet rounds.
Clearly.
Have you?
If pre-flash I'm confidant it would be.
LOL
Sounds good.

Indeed.
Meh, the wording sounded better in my head than written.
The only downfall to this trick is that it only works on a Bonus Play since the SoD is not obtained until later in the game.
Have you done editing the full video? This tease is begging for more.

Will upload it tonight

Awesome, but I would rather fleece the attack so I can get a few orbs and land some hits.

That was quick elonn.

Just got to make it first.

Also what do you need orbs for? To regain health/magic?
I'd rather just not lose them in the first place. Especially seeing how little you get for them as GK.
Done correctly cycle cancelling gives a chance to land a highly damaging special move, like DR, when there shouldn't be time to do so.
At present I'd rather trick the freeze attack (using EH for the lulz) than fleece it as there is no need to button mash.
Do it right and it allows you to land heavy hits with no risk of taking damage
