May sound nice, but i want a real truck, a truck thatll last past 79k miles towing without the transmission going bad (cant get that with ford either) and almost all electrical going out. The 12v was nice though, it would last forever. I say they get there engine back, then compete.

@Nautical1994 Unless you just do a lift pump and tuning, you can get 600HP and nearly 1000 ft lbs on the Dmax for around $600...minus the exhaust you would need. Of course thats the motor part of it, as the stock Allison couldn't take that without slipping, or if manual you would then need a clutch.

@scidav87 Actually the alisson is rated much higher, a buddys got the same ratings as you mentioned, tranny doesnt slip at all. Now when he went up to about 1500 lbs of torque it started slipping, but it was good till 1300.

Nothing wrong with how this truck sound's. Sound's like it is supposed too with no muffler. It is dumping right where the muffler use to be. There is no tailpipe comeing out the back or side. Why it might "not sound right" to some people viewing this.

at o0STANG0o, the reason you would take off a muffler is to allow more air flow thru, same as if you take off that cat. which sometimes coes out of factory already off. But the more air flow thru the exhuast means less EGT's which you want if you pulling or hauling long distances which keeps you truck from overheating! and id rather be Strokin!

Do some research for one I own one and have done a fair amount of work to the intake and exhaust system. The 2001 to 2004.5 turbos are made by ihi. Hell dude GM was putting turbos on their engines since the went to the 6.5L diesel in the 90's. Do some research before you talk out of your ass please.

the hiss is due to the vvt turbo.. when it ajust it has a deep rumble then will hiss then will rumble again. its funny when i start it up it rumbles then starts to randomly hiss everyone always looks and through the hiss you can hear the turbo spool a bit
