He has good, quick footwork for a tall guy and he seems to be an aggressive off-ball player which is probably why he is one of the top picks for the NBA this year. In this video his opponents barely seemed to be college level defensive players so his easy rebounding to dunk highlights might take a little more work in the NBA. from what i can see, he has the POTENTIAL to become a really good NBA player at one point in his career. i don't see him doing too much in his first year though
Dfunk you make a great point. Hes like a small forward in a center's body. Personally, I don't like the comparisions to Dirk because this guy doesnt look like a strong perimeter player. He is very quick for his size and had great footwork. My main concern is him getting bumped around in the NBA. He is too athletic, strong, tough, or solid. Guys like Shaq, KG, Duncan, Amare Stoudamire, etc. might be too much for him.

If he has good work ethic, and works on all the weakenesses that scouts are pointing out, he will definately be an above average 7 footer in the NBA (there's a lot of garbage out there). Remember, depending on the team, drafting potential is just as important as a player that will make an immediate impact. He's quicker, and handles the ball a lot better than Bargnani. Bargnani cannot attack the basket at all. His body looks a lot better this year as well, and his fadeaway is excellent.

He has good, quick footwork for a tall guy and he seems to be an aggressive off-ball player which is probably why he is one of the top picks for the NBA this year. In this video his opponents barely seemed to be college level defensive players so his easy rebounding to dunk highlights might take a little more work in the NBA. from what i can see, he has the POTENTIAL to become a really good NBA player at one point in his career. i don't see him doing too much in his first year though

Dfunk you make a great point. Hes like a small forward in a center's body. Personally, I don't like the comparisions to Dirk because this guy doesnt look like a strong perimeter player. He is very quick for his size and had great footwork. My main concern is him getting bumped around in the NBA. He is too athletic, strong, tough, or solid. Guys like Shaq, KG, Duncan, Amare Stoudamire, etc. might be too much for him.

okay, you guys are all idiots, stop worrying about his vertical and look at the fluidity and speed of his movements. he runs the floor like a wing player, and has a very good 1st step, and does all of this at 7 FEET TALL. Compare him to Dirk for example, he's much quicker and fluid than dirk in the open court and moves much like a swingman. so who cares if his vertical is 23" or 29" or how close his head is to the rim. he is an exceptional talent

I agree the physical capability seems to be there, but all reports say that he CRUMPLES on offense when there is contact and can't convert shots when he is fouled. He is a poor rebounder and shot blocker. He does not make good decisions. Don't ignore the tremendous downside potential.

watch his dunks, he can barely get his head to the rim. I have a better vertical this guy. He "might" have a 28'' vertical, but I doubt its even that high. I don't know why golden state wants him so badly in the draft

wow, you guys need to be taught basic math skills.
First of all, I've seen his head reach the rim as he dunks from five feet away. This means his head should reach higher than the rim when dunking just underneath. He is 7 feet tall. There are 12 inches in a foot. The basket is 10 feet tall. That's a 3 feet difference. 3 feet times 12 inches is 36 so basically he has at least a 36 inch vertical. Case Close

If he has good work ethic, and works on all the weakenesses that scouts are pointing out, he will definately be an above average 7 footer in the NBA (there's a lot of garbage out there). Remember, depending on the team, drafting potential is just as important as a player that will make an immediate impact. He's quicker, and handles the ball a lot better than Bargnani. Bargnani cannot attack the basket at all. His body looks a lot better this year as well, and his fadeaway is excellent.
