(not trying to be mean or nothing but) kinda dumb that you went and downloaded a program that formats a drive (since this is bulit into windows its self and does same as that program does) Just saying.

The video might be better for some but think the real site might help more and show you how to add stuff on another page there. just google hiren's boot cd (1st link)

I have tried for at least an hour to get 10.2 onto a USB pen drive all I keep getting is: "HBCD not found" I have done everything the same way as you. I did look at Fenix's video that he posted in the replies to this one, but it don't help that much as the picture is so bad.

Does it matter that I'm running Windows 7?

thanks for the helpfull vid. ive tried numerous times by now and i cant get it to work.

im using exact same programs as you, with the exception of im using hirens 9.9 disc

when i boot from usb i get a brief black screen that says

try (HD0,0) NTFS5

is this cos im using windows 7? i tried it on an XP machine and it kinda booted and gave me option for hirens but then file not found error

any help greatly appreciated thanks

Good video. I ran across the video after I followed the instructions from the Hiren site. This video confirmed I did the correct steps. However, some computers (BIOS) cannot boot off this USB disk. It works fine on all my Dell computers, but I have problems with Gateways and older ASUS boards. Also, I had trouble booting to the Hiren linux console (USB drivers). Mini Windows works the best.

it can be run as a fat 32, it's just not a good idea to run thumb drives as ntfs shortens their life

hey does this just boot off usb or do you need a cd drive cuz i have a sony vaio c1vpk old ass tiny laptop and it doesnt have a cd drive due to its size and it has windows 2000 and i wanna boot from my usb harddrive to install linux or xp is this possible?
