I was at this performance at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall.

December 22nd, 1988 is a day that this Yank will never forget until the day he dies. Moz's first performance without Johnny Marr. Joyce and Rourke were still with him at this point, and Craig Gannon from Aztec Camera took the place of Marr for this ONE performance. After that Morrissey fell out with Rourke and Joyce, and the rest is history.

Mum refused to let me camp (too young), so I caught the first bus into Wolverhampton in the dark. The day was great. I ended up about 4 people back from the stage. It lasted a total of 28 minutes and there wasn't a moment that Moz wasn't being embraced by a fan. It's now that I realise that being part of the few that got into the gig is pretty legendary. In this clip I can recognise at least 4 people that I knew...withnail9999 included sitting reading his paper!
