True, it's not right to hate Japanese people as a whole for this. But no, what happened in the past does not remain in the past. It should be brought up in the present. The sad thing is that, unlike the Germans, the Japanese government and corporations refuse to acknowledge the past or teach the truth to their children. There is a great deal to admire and celebrate about Japanese culture and history. WWII is not it.

The shame of Japanese politicians prevents them from apologising for the past. Some even deny it. History is even selectively taught to Japanese school kids.
