The dancers' skill is undoubtedly there and in spades, however, this is a bit of sad affair; completely restrained and hesitant almost to the point of cautious, as if though unsure of where to take the choreography. Where's the slashing geometry of Forsythe's creation? It’s not evident here. This work requires great energy and vigorous attacks and both are woefully lacking both tepid performance. Sorry.

where is the attack that this ballet requires - from both partners? i swear that sofiane's dancing took a major shift when she left het nationale. i've always preferred her 'contemporary' work because of the particular neo-classical strengths she possesses though i would have never thought to place her in either nycballet or sfballet.

She has one of the most beautiful ballet bodies I have seen. I like girls who have muscles and definition on their legs. She can pull off a tutu with those legs, there is no need to be super skinny I think. It makes me really sad when esp ballet dancers think skinny is better...I have worked in ballet companies and have seen it up close. More shapes like hers I say!

After watching this a couple times, I've noticed that her tights seem to have fallen down to about her hips. (I think.) Such could be distracting enough to diminish her performance ability.

i saw her perform this at the san francisco ballet gala, and it was waaay better.... ive had her as a teacher too, and she is AMAZING!

Sofiane Sylve is a ballerina of unbelievable talent, who performs suberbly and with elan; the classics as well as Balanchine, Forsythe etc.
