  • Excellent review.

  • 1. Closed hair capture system. (Norelco 8140XL did this, 2D somewhat does it, not completely)

    2. Shave using shaving cream (Sensotouch 2D & 3D does this, which others?)

Can you recommend shavers that do both of these things?

  • @electricshaver

Thanks, my neck is very sore when using it as a dry shave. What pre-electric lotion do you recommend?

  • When I tried the 3D and went in circular motions, my skins would move a little too much. With the Braun, you usually just go up and down and a little sideway with your neck area. By holding my skin (height around the bottom of my ear lobe) this prevented my skin from moving too much when going in the circular motion. This helped me get a closer shave.

Your video was very good and I want to thank you for putting it on internet.

  • I purchased the 3D when I found it on line under $160. It is much lighter, quieter and has less vibration than my Braun. It also does not drop wiskers on your sink like the Braun. I found a circular motion helps get a better shave. Both the wet and dry shave did a equal job for me. It did a good job on face and neck. I did not have to push too hard. I agree that the wet shave is a more pleasing experience. Braun 7 is too expensive for me and I am glad I found this shaver. Highly Recommended.

Hey, thanks a lot for the comment. I'm glad to hear from people who had a good experience with this shaver. I know there are many people out there because I've seen many positive reviews. Although I need to be honest in my personal review and final thoughs, just because I didn't like this shaver doesn't mean it won't work for other people. Thanks again for the comment.

  • When you do a wet shave, do you leave it on when you need to rinse it?

  • @charles6835

No I just turn it off and turn it back on, but I don't think it matters too much. If you leave it running you might just get a few splashes which may make a bit of a mess.

  • Best to clean it in the evening so thoughts ready for tomorrow morning

  • Nice but using a pre-electric oil helps

  • great fucking review

  • parabéns pelo seu vídeo. Apresentou muito bem o PHILIPS 3D.

  • Um aparelho muito bom, tira mesmo os pelinhos do rosto. ótima evolução da PHILIPS.

  • Would this provide a better shave than the gillette proglide? I'm thinking about switching to an electric razor and really like the looks of this one, but with how much it costs, I'd want to make sure I'd be upgrading. Thanks!

  • @stallion7712

Based on my personal experience, I get a closer shave with electric shavers because you can shave against the grain with a low risk of irritation, making your face very smooth to the touch. Also if you're new to electric shavers, I would recommend a foil shaver like the Braun Series 7. I found I got better shaves with it over the SensoTouch 3D. IMO the Braun Series 7 produces better shaves than the Gillette ProGlide.

  • Wenn ich das schon sehe also mal im ernst dann Kann man sich auch gleich nass rasieren :)

  • Just for this fairly expensive shaver! Thanks for the review, truly helpful. How often do you think that heads would need to be changed?

  • @rockeytheguru

The manufacturers will say every 1 to 2 years, but it all depends, some people never change the blades. Some use their shavers more often than others, some have thicker facial hair and so on. So if after 1 to 2 years you start to notice your shaver clearly isn't performing as well, getting some new blades will probably help. I think once you replace them for the first time, you will know whether it was too early or not, and then you'll have a better idea for the future.

  • what do you call the surface of your face you have just shaved over, as you can see you are clean shaven however due to shaving this is different from your skin colour/tone if you understand? is their a way to avoid this?

  • Hello I want to buy it in amazon us ... But I don't know can run at 220 volts?

  • @DXB2014

Yes it should be fine. It has an Automatic Worldwide voltage 100V to 240VAC.

  • @ElectricShaverGuide Thank you for your answer :)

  • Thanks for another great video!

Earlier I wrote that my target shavers for everyday use were Panasonic ES-LA93-K, Braun Series 7 - 790cc and Philips Norelco 1280X/42 SensoTouch 3d.

Until this review I was sure that Philips 3D would be great for dry shaving but it only does great result with wet shaving :(

So far, according to you experience which model does the closest shave Braun 790cc or Philips 3D wer shave?

Now I am waiting your review about Panasonic ES-LA93-K to make final decision.

  • @utilizator333

Thanks for the comment. My next review will be on the Panasonic ES-LA93-K and it should be up in about a month. For me, the Braun Series 7 dry shave is closer than the SensoTouch 3D wet shave. I also found the less expensive Panasonic ES 8249 S to be closer as well. Remember this has been my experiences, and everyone is different. Some people might get better results with the SensoTouch 3D, however for me, the Braun Series 7 is clearly a better shaver.

  • Such a mess. Why would I want a separate charging stand? Why can't I run it from the mains? Correct me if I'm wrong but that cleaning fluid looks like soapy water. That drying phase is ridiculous. Braun has a heater that channels warm air onto the foil. 2 hours? The 7 Series takes 40 minutes.

The reason you buy an electric shaver is because you want to make shaving easier. Working better with wet shaving does not make life easier.

    Sense and simplicity? Afraid not.

    Stick to your Braun.

  • @MercSLRFan

Thanks for the comment. The drying time is long, but most "quick clean" features aren't too practical IMO because you're most likely not going to need the shaver until the next day. The charging stand exists because it comes with the models which don't have the Jet Clean System, so it seems a bit redundant. They probably include it with this model because it makes it a bit more portable. You're right about the Braun Series 7, I use it as my everyday shaver and like it better.

  • @ElectricShaverGuide I know the quick clean function is rubbish but a complete cleaning cycle on economy only takes 34 minutes on the Braun. One thing that I do not like is when I want to do a full battery discharge I have to set the timer to ring right before the cleaning program is done and take it out immediately otherwise it starts charging. I think with the Panasonic shaver you don't have this issue.
