Great tune on a pretty good album. I think a lot of people were disappointed with it because it was the first Oasis record that wasn't loaded with 5 star songs. Magic Pie and My Big Mouth are not Noel's best work by a long shot, and even the record's best songs just werent as good as WTSMG. Still a good album though.
Love this album. But the critics and even Liam wasn't happy.
Guess the song durations running over 4minutes was the minus point. If there is one song (e.g. Champagne Supernova or November Rain) ya it's ok to have a super-long finale like that. COs fans will want to hear the same song structure during performances/concerts - and playing/singing the full 8 min songs which they don't or modified, takes the fun and memory from the original album.
Sounds way better than on the album it feels way more rock n Roll with the lessened reverb of the guitar. Plus it is more enjoyable because of its shortened time as it does not drag so much like it does on the album. I wish that Noel had this tone for more of his Rock songs.
@elXado i just wanted to say that i prefer the live versions of the 'be here now' songs over the album versions because the mix of the record sucks. songs are waaay too long, up to 30 tracks of guitar overdubbed in just one song, etc.

People sing pretty loud to Lyla and the new singles but for the sake of it let's just say the setlist on the gigs are decided by Noel so if they have more older tunes it's because Noel wants it, other than that I agree nice to hear from real fans once in a while! Some tunes are arguably not their very best, tunes like Shakermaker and Hey Now! aren't played and you got a few classics that are starting to become a little worned out BECAUSE the new tunes aren't played enough

I then said the lyrics to the later songs have been better cuz songs like those on Be here now where inspired by drugs are not as good. What does he reply?

People sing pretty loud to Lyla and the new singles but for the sake of it let's just say the setlist on the gigs are decided by Noel so if they have more older tunes it's because Noel wants it, other than that I agree nice to hear from real fans once in a while! Some tunes are arguably not their very best, tunes like Shakermaker and Hey Now! aren't played and you got a few classics that are starting to become a little worned out BECAUSE the new tunes aren't played enough
