  • most london hotels run by indians and pakistanis i have been to have always been dirty crampped and rooms that are like cuboards. how do they get away with classing there hotels as 2 star. i've nothing against these people because of there race but some of there hotels seem very dirty and unclean nad poorly equipped.

  • @peteboy1113 What are you talking about?

  • You're not supposed to make a fuss about wood being mahogany any more, you're so friggin 80s aren't you.

  • Claridge's has more of a 'wow' factor.

  • @billythebrit claridges has nowhere near the "wow" factor of the Ritz. Have you ever been here?

  • i heard you couldnt get in wearing jeans?? only a full suit.

  • Yes, gentlemen must wear a full suit of armour to enter The Ritz.

  • they let me in with a burbury cap and a shell suit, told the booncer I'd slash his wee fanny-baws if he didnae

  • ain't that chavtastic...england needs an enema

  • Why? To replace you because you've moved to the states? Or for you because you're over here and have to piles? What strange comment - also, you think you're 'zany' for using the word chavtastic, but that stopped being used 5 years ago.

  • then u must be from govan or easterhouse

  • This is all a bit sell you down the river; the most ledgendary building and the most dominating-of-Piccadilly building is in fact Devonshire House, situated accross the road from and very nearly opposite the Ritz Hotel.

    .

Another business better known than the Ritz Hotel, on Piccadilly is Fortnum and Mason, and even Simpsons of Piccadilly is better associated with Piccadilly than the Ritz Hotel is, even though Simpsons of Piccadilly closed down ten years ago.

    .

However there is room for all.

  • Over the top, dated, yuk!! Sorry, prefer my luxury a little more 21st century.

  • Dear jt.,

Yes you are right this is an interpretation of luxury, which hotel therefore do you prefer when passing time in London or indeed in Paris, please?

    .

Perhaps you have made a vt of the hotel at one of your past stays; I'd be delighted to hear your view on modernist architecture especially as you may be from the new world and the custom here in Europe is to continue with traditon rather than embrace any nouvelle vagues.

    .

    Do please let us know.

    .

    Cheers.
