I think the reason was he locked the rear brakes. And when he hit the last few steps, the grip from the tires and the impact broke the bikes frame underneath. Well thats what i think it was anyway.

Hit the stairs w/ a bunny hop. The suspension is there for a reason. Land w/ the swing arm first and the front fork last. Guaruntee the frame broke at the butt of the tube. Better luck next time.
