corey has a hell of a draw stroke, i waatched an amazing shot where he was bending the cue ball left then straight down and right again its unbelievable!
corey is the man! and i play APA which is an amatuer pool league and we have some great players, and none of them can run out 6 racks before missing. WHere did you get this from?
Well im hoping to become a pro billiards player. And i look up to Corey Deuel. He is one of the greatest pool players of all time and deserves respect. These guys don't get the respect they deserve. And im not just talking about Corey every male and female in pro billiards.
@elementskateboardsyo to become a great poolplayer you need discipline, which basicaly means practice and practice good. pay attention to what the cue ball does when you apply certain english, practice like its the us open finals and you have to run out for the win. And keep watching corey deuel, hes a great player to look at and sort of mimic his pattern play and shot selections. ill be frank, these are the steps i took and in two years i went froma c to a run out A.

I could tell that the cue stick he had was giving him problems with the speed of the cue ball some time to much roll and some times not enough. He made some good shots but good pool player shouldn'r allways be in a position to to make those high percentage shots. He got out of line about three times. The average 9 ball player should be able to run about 6 rack before they miss.

Uhm in a US open Earl Strickland scored a 32% clearance score. And Ive seen many matches on youtube, but I may have seen 1 or 2 runs of 6 racks. And these guys are pro's.. what about the 'average 9-ball player'?

This guys watching them play just don't impress me. They just have the sponsors and money for this long tournaments. Now Frankie Thomas out of alabama or Mexican Ralfe out of fort worth texas they impress me. They draw a large crowed no matter where they play.I was a prodigiy of some of the best white ,black , mexican and asian pool player in the world.Mexican Ralfe I knew I couldn't beat him. He would let me try either for less that a hundred a game.
No were talking about people that make a living shooting pool. Thats if they are still alive. I got out of the hustling game because it was getting to dangerous taking people hard earn money.

Its not an ego. Im going to give you a bit of wisdom about any sport. Unless I think or have a lot of confidence to win the game I have no business being In any tournament. or game. You can see in this game that he is becoming more of a shot maker rather than a position player.
If you know anything about the game you would understand that once you are out of line in a rack it usually doesn't get any easier. Corey can play position with the best of them, as shown by his shot on the 4 to break out the 6. You can have all the shot making power in the world but you still have to know how to move the cue ball around.
@robertus911 LOL 6 racks before missing? Average player? LOL. In a tournament if a pro ties 6 racks together, I go crazy! You watch these pros practice they don't get 6 racks. Average run out in pro tourneys according to accustats is less than 30% and that's for pros! Not average people.
the cue which you are talkin about is Viking G-87 wright. I saw that cue on photo with Corey (9 ball Tokyo Event) 5 years ago and just now I know which model is it.
I dont even think he was using his own cue..I think this was the tournament that his cue was stolen at...I remember him telling me that his viking was stolen at 1 of those tournaments over there...

that was insane, coreys a very nice guy too, quiet, but nice... hes the in house pro at my local pool hall and I see him play regularly he seems to thrive on pressure
Ok. he made it look easy.

Yup, that was a great shot on the 1. He really got out of line on the 8 though, but made it look easy.

Man oh man, the draw he got off his shot on the 1 was nuts. If he hadn't run into the 7 he would have gotten down for great position on the 2.
