  • Wonderful

  • Hey does anyone know where I can download this? like a podcast i guess, not the whole sermon just this audio? that would be fantastic!!! :-)

  • Amazing video and that illustration is so powerful. Praise God we can b slaves of righteousness!

  • What a powerful sermon, the slave girl...bought with a price... just awesome! I've heard this before and it has the same impact. Bless you for sharing.

  • I love this preacher.

  • Christ can make you free from the bondage & slavery of sin. Anything is possible through Christ Jesus.

  • ANYTHING is possible?

Please pray for all the children who died in the Haitian earthquake to come back to life so the surviving parents don't have to suffer.

Oh, yeah... that's right... prayer is USELESS.

    Idiot.

  • It would be ignorant to pray & have a child in heaven with God in eternity to be brought back to earth to endure more suffering.

    ;)

  • @hetgow Amen

  • @ricksparks Thats weak CRAP... But what else can be expected from a man who is blind with NO understanding, except for the garbage he gleefully takes in to soothe his conscience.

  • People attention! dont worry about ricksparks he couldent prove or win on the issue of Christianity he cursed me bad on p.m. messages and stuff, he got so offended by the truth that he blocked me so just ignore him.

    God Bless!

  • BTW rick your ad hominem attacks is childish and I hope you can find other ppl that agree with your train of thought.

    Bye, bye

    ;)

  • @hetgow Check out JASON WESTERFIELD (we can prove God existence for the world). Check out Furious Love, the movie. You can see a snippet on youtube. I am not advertising anything, Just want you know that you can encounter god for yourself and reveal him to the world. Bless you.

  • ok I will, unblock me, will you answer me 2 things? rick?

  • @ricksparks

first find ([the]) definition of (clinically dead) that way there is no confusion between us.

ok how is it that a person that has been [[clinically dead]] come back to life?

and how is it that people that have been [[clinically dead]] say after they died that life still goes on (spiritually) and saw one of 2 things heaven or hell?

  • @ricksparks What were you looking for when you decided to watch this?

  • @ricksparks Can you prove God isn't real? God will never let us completely prove (although I would argue there is plenty of support for it) him to be true in this life because he wants faith, and that's included in the bible.

  • Go be faithless somewhere else, no one cares about your opinion. No one needs to convince you of anything, because they aren't going to stand with you on judgement day, that one you'll handle on your own. I hope your un-clever bs youtube statements hold you up then.

  • @ricksparks Of course he can't prove it,. that's why it is called "faith". Who's the idiot? Why do you chastise others for having faith just because you have none? Oh yes, my bad, you do have faith, it's just in something you can't prove either....

  • @ricksparks The bible is a book of prophecy. God said He would tell the End from the Beginning so you would Know He is God-He did. To date, all prophecy is 100% accurate, fulfilled and exact. God says the generation that see's Israel become a nation again in one day, is the last one before ALL is fulfilled. The alliance between Russia, Iran, Turkey against Israel, the world wide eco. crisis, one world government, nuclear war, and far more is told. At 100% accurate, you stand at 0, with no time.

  • @ricksparks

you believe in evolution or say there is no God you have no one to laugh at but yourself

    thou art a fool

  • This is so true and amazing!!!

  • I love this sermon. Thank you for posting it.

    John 8:34

Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the SERVANT of sin.

  • Praise God for only he is worthy!! I Love you Father

  • When we believe on Jesus Christ; we end up wanting to do HIS will, and our desire is to walk in the spirit, in order that we do not fulfill the lust of the flesh. We all sin, but we hate the sin that we do. Etc, etc. Jesus paid it all, but we do NOT have a licence to sin

  • Jesus said, "Except ye repent; ye shall likewise, perish"

  • set choself free from yoself!

  • Praise God He bought me...2 Corinthians 8:9

  • This is maybe the best presentation of the real gospel I have ever heard.

HOW can any thinking man reject this?

rick sparks, I have mett literally thousands who talk just like you do. You have been brainwashed by the 'gospel' of secualr humanism. You will receive your just reward, and except ye repent, ye shall likewise perish

  • Scary to hear you say that. This is one of the most confusing presentations I have ever heard. It started out good, than he started mixing discipleship/walking with the Lord with being saved. Salvation is a one time free gift received by faith. You contribute nothing, he contributed everything. Than he gets into Christ dying for you and saving you from sinning, and living for him, as if that is salvation. That is after salvation, they are two totally 100% opposite things. Very confusing

  • Saying a prayer does not get you saved. Jesus said, "Not everyone who saith unto me LORD, Lord ' Etc you have read it already. I see folks who claim they are saved but are shacked up and smoking pot. THAT IS NOT THE SIGN OF A BORN AGAIN CHRISTIAN. Without repentance no man shall see the Lord

  • amen so true. the truth is we can say Lord Lord all we want but until we truly make Him LORD of our entire life we are only fooling ourselves. He must be king and Lord of our hearts our lives our wills our all. Lest a seed fall to the ground and die it can not bear fruit. To be able to say as Paul said, "It is NO LONGER I that liveth, but Christ that liveth in me!" The cross is the marks of a true born again believer. Crucified to the world and the world crucified to us.

  • Best comment of the month, on U Tube

  • @streetpreacher1611

"salvation"--in one definition means to be delivered from the power or penalty of sin

Salvation is a daily thing... or are you under the power of sin? Does not God deliver you from sin? daily? Or do you not trust Him to?

Think about what you're saying... this small excerpt of a sermon is amazing.

  • @streetpreacher1611

if you are saved you will live for Him

"if you love me obey my commandments"

  • You just hit the heart of the problem right on the head!!!!!

Here is where the confusion is.

Yes, if you love him, you will obey his commandments. Yes, if you love him, you will live for him, witness, pray, confess your sins, go to church, etc.....

    IF------YOU-----LOVE-----HIM!!!

Do you see what your problem is?

Does it say IF YOU ARE SAVED ....??

It says if you love him. Not if you are saved. You repent and do good works to show your love, not doing them has NOTHING to do with salvation.

  • @streetpreacher1611,

If you love Him, you obey His commandments...

So lets read that backwards... you obey His commandments if you love Him...

..now lets read it as Christ would, if you don't obey Him, you must hate Him? Since you cannot serve two masters...

If you hate Him, you will not obey His commandments... therefore, you are not saved.

  • I just wish we had more preachers like this man today.

  • Attention Religious Zealots: I am done responding in this forum. I just don't have the time anymore. If anyone cares to read a clearer explanation, feel free to read the note on my profile page.

Here's hoping the majority of you learn to be more than just fools for the oldest con in the world.

  • But for the mercy of God; you are still one heartbeat from eternity in a very real and horrible hell. You are un-holy, wicked of heart, and deserve nothing better. These is no man alive who is righteous by his own efforts.

    Especially not you (or me)

  • the oldest con in this world is that God doesnt exist.

cant you see that living without him is such foolishness. there is no meaning in this life but to serve him because he is worthy.

  • ks: You want to live your life as a slave to a being which has never been proven real, be my guest. Just don't expect people who prefer freedom to join you.

  • @ricksparks i hope you find the freedom you're looking for, although i don't think you'll find it in the pleasures of this world.

  • See, this is the problem with religion... it convinces people being a fool is something to be proud of.

What is your proof that a "god" exists?

  • So often we live our lives with chains on and do not even realize we have the key.

A humble servant of the Lord Jesus Christ

  • Amen - But when the son of man comes will he find faith on the earth?

  • Yes, there is a remnant! Let the redeemed of the Lord say so!

  • hallelujah! amen!

  • Amen and amen! Wonderful!

  • An honest question for all religious believers....

How old were you when you were first taught to believe in a "god" and why do you not think you were brainwashed?

  • not an honest question at all...

Don't be deceived...GOD is not mocked. Whatever a man sows, Rick, so shall he reap.

  • robin: The question is incredibly honest.

Everyone who believes in a "god" was told to do so at some point, either verbally or in writing. How old were you when that first happened?

Some people are indoctrinated into religion before they are old enough to completely understand or evaluate what they're being taught. What makes you think you were not brainwashed?

By the way, it is impossible to mock "god." No such thing exists. Also, I am unimpressed with nebulous threats.

  • It is the fool that says there is no GOD...and sadly you are a complete an utter fool. If there is no GOD...then why are you wasting my time and others? If you want to believe that you evolved from an ape and your life has no purpose, then so be it. By the way, religion IS a waste of time...WE have relationship with the King of the universe...NOT religion...So why doth thou protest so much? Because of air? Because of nothing? You need a hobby!

  • robin: You haven't proved a "god" exists. Until you do, you are the fool for proclaiming one is real.

Your comment shows you know nothing about evolution. Humans didn't evolve from apes. Primates all have a common ancestor.

You don't have a relationship. You have an imaginary friend. Relationships involve more than one person.

I am tired of watching religion addle minds, incite horrible acts of bigotry & violence, and limit humanity's intellectual progress. Fictional belief is dangerous.

  • and let me ask you a question why hasnt science explained so many inexplicable things here on earth huh? the day science has answers to all my questions (which are many) i will live by what science and science says alone.

  • Please don't insult the apes with that nonsense

  • well the best proof you are going to get that all these thing are real is when you die

  • That's idiotic, Triger.

I am unimpressed by nebulous threats made on behalf of a "god" which has never been proven real.

  • Wow i am amazed by your ignorance, you know so many things that you don't realize that all of us must die some day thats what i ment i guess you are one of those guys that can't handle the word death and its meaning

  • We can't even philosophically prove that we ourselves are real. Why must God, who is greater than us, have to conform to our little human standards before we'll accept what He has to say?

  • Oh even if we could 'prove him real' you would still refuse to believe. This is because your heart belongs to satan

  • and another question, prove to me that God doesn't exist.

  • One day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess...even yours....choose this day whom you will serve...LIFE OR DEATH?

  • robin: This is why I have a serious problem with religious nonsense. You do NOT have a right to ORDER ME, no matter what the "bible" tells you.

Prove what you've claimed will happen.

  • you are too funny!

  • robin: You have not proven that what you claimed will happen. You are a sucker for the oldest con in the world.

Are you aware of the fact that there are 38,000 sects of Christianity? Even if your religion was the "right" one, according to doctrine the odds of you being the right "kind" of Christian are against you, and when you include the total number of other religions the number becomes even smaller.

  • He bought me to set me free, Hallulujah Glory be to God, Humbly I bow before him because I was not worthy for his mercy , But He bought me to set me free, I want nothing that to be his slave, Powerful Video and very heart moving, God Bless

  • and we want nothing more than to be His slave.

  • Yes, Lord. You WILL find a consecrated bride without spot or wrinkle. How do we overcome? By the blood of the Lamb and the Word of HIS testimony!!!!Hallelujah!

  • Praise God !!!! how unworthy we truly are! He is worthy of every ounce of Glory, praise ,honor and devotion we are able to bring Him! Hallelujah what a Savior

  • very good video brother God bless you keep up the good work for God's kingdom and glory Jesus Christ is Lord amen

  • Praise our LORD and SAVIOR! Wow ... HE bought me to set me free ... I never looked at it in this light before. Some real food for thought. A truly powerful video. Thank you for this one. God bless you always, brother. 8^)>

  • Yes, Lord...circumsize our hearts!

  • This is one of the most amazing video clips (and truths) I've ever seen/heard. I've watched it over and over. Thank you for posting it!

  • Wow, the soundtrack is from the last samurai??? i hear it before but i dont rember

    Thanks

  • The serpent will not be raised, but will be trampled under foot.

  • Man has tried to make themselves equal to or above God. That is why God quoted if U eat from the forbidden tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil U will surely die, because the Spirit doesn't sin, Only the flesh sins. Sin falls with the flesh, & is condemned to the flesh and dies. We are born again into the Spirit, to live thru Jesus The Christ. Some things can Only be understood thru the Spirit of God.John 4:24 God is Spirit therefore we must worship him in Spirit and in Truth.

    Read John 3:3

  • The nature of the sinful man, or follower of satan (Liar) is if they "Can't claim it they blame it". The accuser was defeated by the blood of the Lamb. Jesus quoted U don't have to belive in me, just believe in what he was saying ( Word) People get soooo caught up in religion, we must rise above the Pharisees and the Sadusees. ( Feelings or false religions) God is Spirit, therefore we must worship him in Spirit and In TRUTH. Jesus is the way the TRUTH, and the LIFE. We become heirs thru Christ

  • He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf,

that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

    2 Corinthians 5: 14-21

  • Therefore if any one is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, all things have become new. I Corinthians 5:17

  • Romans 5: 17For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) 18Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. 19For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

  • 37Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Romans 8: 39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  • To imaginefree,

I really have a very busy life, and don't have time to become a scientist or biochemist to proove what you are saying is correct or not, Nor do I care wither or not an insect has 4 legs or 6, it is just not important to me at this time. But I know what I know, and I know that Jesus is the Son of God and made the utermost blood sacrifice, and I have never heard of anyone else able to do what he did. I think your mind is set to proove the bible is a wisely made up fable. It's not.

  • to Imaginefree69,

Have U ever eaten locust or grasshoppers?

They Might taste like Fowls and be equally nutritious. (Same as) The bible is usally deeper than U think.

  • 20All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you. 21Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth; (Grasshopper)

22Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind.

23But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an ---

  • "every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four"

    Right.

And these invertebrates travel (goeth) upon six legs.

The flavour and nutritional properties are not in question.

Just the number of their legs,

    which the Bible states erroneously.

  • Dear Imaginefree69, look up a picture of a Praying Mantid, 2 of what scientist are calling leggs are arms. so who is write scientists or the bible? I never really gave it a second thought until U mentioned it.

I know the bible says consider the aint thou sluggard.

  • "look up a picture of a Praying Mantid" First, the Praying M is not on the list. Go to Google. Click on IMAGES. Enter "Beetles." When the pictures load, just count the legs. They walk on six legs. They do not use the front pair for eating with a knife and fork. They do not clasp their little front legs in prayer. They walk on them. Which is why entomologists call them legs.
  • Great Video !! Food for thought on those who try to disproove the bible. Some things are deeper than shallow minded know it alls. Mathew 11: 25At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

  • "thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes."

That's one way to avoid the issue.

How has your god "hidden" from the Bible

the correct number of legs on an insect?

That makes no sense at all.

  • Where is it in the bible where it reads how many legs an insect has?

    Just wondering.

  • Here you are, TSS

    INSECTS HAVE 4 LEGS

    Leviticus 11:20-23

    "every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four;

    the locust..the beetle..and the grasshopper"

  • Imaginefree69 are you still spamming this page?

  • lurasman, are you still afraid to address any of my assertions?

  • Oh give me a break, your arguements are weak and you keep spamming the same questions even though people have addressed them, then you repost it just to provoke someone else. There is no reason for me to address anything you've said because you're not here for a discussion. The only reason you are here is for a lame attempt to trample on the word God. Good luck with it.

  • "people have addressed them"

    Not legitimately.

    And you certainly have not.

And you are still ducking and dodging.

    No problem;

there's no rule saying you have to engage

    if you lack the arguments,

but it's tacky to throw insults from the bleachers

if you refuse to join the game.

  • the Hebrew word for evil "rah" is used in many different ways in the Bible. In the KJV Bible, it occurs 663 times. 431 times it is translated as "evil." The other 232 times it is translated as "wicked", "bad", "hurt", "harm", "ill", "sorrow", "mischief", "displeased", "adversity", "affliction", "trouble", "calamity", "grievous", "misery", and "trouble." So we can see that the word does not require that it be translated as "evil." This is why different Bibles translate this verse differently

  • "the Hebrew word for evil "rah" is used in many different ways in the Bible."

    That's right.

And YHWH created ALL of them.

Or would have, if he were real.

    He boasts about it,

he insists that NOTHING was created

    by anyone but him.

Hell, evil, darkness, sin, death, shame, guilt, lies, everything.

    So the Bible says.

  • if he were real

You assert that there is no God at all. That is what you believe. I disagree. I think life and all its complexities had to have a Creator. I am fearfully (awesomely) and wonderfully made. I don't know the number of hairs on my head, but I know there is only a certain amount I have.

  • Dear Imagine, imagine the Greatest Love that You can possibly know.

And when you get past your anger issues and pride you might just find him while he can be found, For God is Love.

I hord no ill feelings toward your imagination, however it is written in the bible that we should cast down ALL imagination. I have found it to be true that those who think they know it all don't really know much at all.

Blessings in Christ are still alive!

There is Glory in his name and not condemnation

  • "God is Love." "Dear Child, You are my offspring. Nothing will ever separate you from my love. I will always comfort you. Unless you don't believe me, or you're gay, or you voted for Obama, in which case I will torture you for ever and ever in the torture chamber I made. You know I'll do it, too. I already tortured and mutilated and killed and abandoned my only REAL son. Trust me. Your loving Father, God."
  • God does love us. If we struggle with being gay, or voted for McCain or Obama, or got drunk God still loves us. God doesn't want us to be hurt by sin. Sin hurts us. There are consequences for our sins. Love demands justice. If it didn't then why not kill as many people as we can and get as much stuff as we can and all live like Hitler? If there is no consequence for evil, then evil will reign.

You know what amazes me? It amazes me all the times God did not kill me when I deserved it!

  • "God does love us I just bought a dozen puppies - I own them, they BELONG to me. They're really cute, but most of them are less grateful than I think they should be, and some even fail to obey me. So I'm gonna put them in a metal garbage can, sprinkle them with gasoline, and burn them. Not all at once, just a little every day to see how long I can keep them squealing and squirming. I'm not God so it won't be for ever, but I'll do my best... Hey, I love 'em!
  • Imagine, have you stopped and listened to the video that we keep posting on? I heard this in a cd with a kid I had led to the Lord from my work a few years ago. I will never regret leading anyone to Christ. I love people. I love Christ. Was there ever a time in your life when you really loved Christ?

I have a cousin who is an extremely gifted musician, he was so on fire for God once and then didn't get what he wanted and turned away. We were close. You remind me of him.

  • "You remind me of him."

Don't toss out that red herring, thanks.

    My personal experience is irrelevant.

We are discussing verifiable lies and errors in the Bible.

I could be Hitler or Mother Theresa or Balaam's ass,

it would have no effect on the truth of my assertions.

  • It wasn't meant to be a red herring, and your personal experience is what makes it relevant. You are unwilling to give God the benefit of your doubt. I have evidence for the faith that I have in God. I am not better than you. I just trust in God. You are definately biased against Him.

  • "You remind me of him."

You really do. He didn't get what he wanted from God when he wanted it. He was not able to put God before his own desires and he turned on God. He was angry that God didn't heal what he wanted healed and he began to curse like the devil and blaspheme against God. I left him before he was institutionalized. He would no longer hear the truth.

  • Luke 10:17-20

[17] The seventy-two returned with joy and said, "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name."

[18] He replied, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. [19] I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. [20] However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."

  • "The seventy-two returned with joy and said, "Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name." " And Jesus said his followers would do even greater works. But they don't. He said his kingdom would be established while some of his audience yet lived. They must be, what, 2000 years old now? I'll bet they are becoming impatient! He said his followers would be identifiable by their love, but I don't see that in the christian people. He prayed they would be ONE, now there are 38,000 denominations.
  • Is there a possibility that you are misunderstanding this verse? I understood this verse to mean when we receive glorified bodies after the resurrection.

I have also wondered about that verse that you are talking about where Jesus said that some would not taste of death until he returned. I don't know the answer to that one. I don't believe Jesus lied, I think I don't understand it.

I have also thought about the "They will know you are Christians by your love," thing too.

  • "I have also thought about the "They will know you are Christians by your love," thing too."

I am so glad to hear that you are considering these things.

    Truly, I am.

Jesus also prayed that xians would be "one",

that they would do greater works than he did,

    that they'd raise the dead,

and John said that those born of god can not sin.

I'm seeing LOTS of missing pieces.

  • I think that maybe because I see my own fallibility in these matters I try to be more merciful to others' shortcomings. I find myself being unloving and unkind at times and it bothers me. I believe it is conviction from the Holy Spirit which reminds me that I am still a sinner in need of a Savior. I can never be without sin until I am glorified. I thought that the time of pentecost was the only time that these "greater works" were made manifest. God's grace is sufficient for me til then.

  • "I think that maybe because I see my own fallibility in these matters I try to be more merciful to others' shortcomings"

I think you are an exceptionally kind and honest person, gun,

but according to the Bible it should have nothing to do with your moral strength or efforts.

The bible says that those who are born of God CAN NOT sin.

But I have never yet met a believer who has experienced this,

so the church hides that away

    rather than honestly addressing it

    and seeking the solution.

  • I have to admit that I don't understand what God means by this. I am born again, and I surely sin. I think it may mean when I am resurrected and glorified. No sin can enter into Heaven. I am not in Heaven. I have overcome certain sins though. When I am submitted to God and I am seeking him I can't bear to sin, but I do end up in the flesh again and sin. It is impossible for me to stay in the spirit. Besides, I'm married, my flesh gets in there. I want my own way sometimes, I sin.

  • "I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you"

And yet we see NONE of this today.

    Jam yesterday,

    jam tomorrow,

but never a taste of jam to we see today.

    That's how all religions work.

  • Isn't this an "as needed" kind of thing. I mean snake handling Baptists are "tempting God," aren't they? When satan told Jesus to throw himself off the temple he said that Jesus could do it because God had angels there to make sure he never dashed his foot against a stone. That was not in line with what God wanted.

I have heard of missionaries who have unknowingly been bitten by deadly snakes in Papua New Guinnea and been surprised to able to use this verse for the salvation of others.

  • "Isn't this an "as needed" kind of thing"

    Fair enough.

Most North Americans have little need to encounter deadly vipers

    (well, of of the legless type;

we all know he church is filled with poisoned mouths galore!)

but how about some healings for the Iraqi vets

returning with missing limbs and PTSD?

Why are they living in alleys and skootching along in wheelchairs?

Where is the god of Jesus today?

Not in the church, that's for certain.

  • What can I say about that? I just left a church where there was abusiveness from the very pulpit occasionally. Again, church leaders are fallible. So am I. The basis for all human relationships is mutual trust and respect. I could not remain where there was disrespect from the pulpit. I go where there is love and truth (which sometimes hurts) from the pulpit.

God does not owe anyone a healing or a whole body. Joni Erikson-Tada!

God is in the believer who allows him to reign within thm

  • The soldier of darkness that I am. Drinking blood to quench our beast. The ignorant sheep are my slaves. It was a long time ago... When I sold my soul to the devil. He shall kill their god and become their new god. Those who refuse, shall be eaten alive. Dragged into the shadows of Hell. Empty Abyss, void of nothingness. Deep inside, devoid of all holy light. I shall serve Satan forever in darkness. As a faithful Demon by his throne. Surrounded by the filth of departed angels.
  • Be free! I was a Christian for 50 years and a pastor and Bible teacher for 40 years. Now I'm an atheist and I regret misusing most of my life. True wisdom and maturity begin when we realise that we are responsible for our own actions and decisions and that no imaginary hero is going to come along and clean up our messes. No Tooth Fairy, no Santa, no Fairy Godfather, no god. I've been an atheist for 6 years and now I finally know what freedom means.
  • forgive me sir..but how can you have been a Christian for 50 years when you state that there is no God? A Christian is a child of God who has communion with HIm. A Christian is the one who Knows and fellowships with the Almighty. I'm very grieved that you have never tasted God!

  • Knowing God is like knowing any other person, when you know them you can no longer deny they exist.

  • "Knowing God is like knowing any other person, when you know them you can no longer deny they exist."

Dorothy and the Tin man knew the Wizard of Oz, too.

    Or they thought they did,

until Toto pulled the curtain aside...

  • Not quite. Dorothy and Toto met a man who was an imposter. The living God has always been and has given us a way to know him. There is no deception or darkness in Him. You either know someone or you don't. Even when you are mad at them you still know them.

  • "There is no deception or darkness in Him. "

    According to the Bible

God created evil, he created darkness,

he blinds eyes and closes ears and hardens hearts,

he makes some vessels unto dishonour,

he causes people to believe a lie,

    he sends powerful delusion,

he sends lying spirits into the mouths of prophets,

and even Jesus used parables to hide the truth from the multitudes.

  • God did not create evil, he created beings who do evil things because they are free to chose evil. There is none righteous, no not one.

Something about this comment reminds me of Job's friends. I have to admit, I don't understand everything I read in the Bible, but I do believe God is trustworthy.

People who believe lies, delusions& receive lying spirits are the people who are not interested in the truth. They want their own way, God lets them have it. They begin it God allows it.

  • "God did not create evil"

Sorry, but according to the Bible he did.

I form the light, and create darkness:

I make peace, and create evil:

I the LORD do all these things.

    Isaiah 45:7

And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.

    Exodus 32:14

  • gunsopely, hello?

You said that God did not create evil.

I showed you from the scriptures that he does.

You're just gonna pretend that never happened?

  • You said that God did not create evil.

I showed you from the scriptures that he does. You're just gonna pretend that never happened?

No, I haven't forgotten it. I just haven't found the answer to it yet. I really do know that I don't have all the answers. I'm still trying to figure it out.

  • "People who believe lies, delusions& receive lying spirits are the people who are not interested in the truth."

Again, that's not what the Bible says.

One example (of many) is in 1 Kings 22:21-23,

Ahab wanted the truth but God sent a lying spirit into the mouth of the prophet.

  • IT's interesting that you site Ahab who was a very evil king &didnt want the truth, but his own way. In 1Kings 16:30 Ahab...did evil in the sight of the Lord above all that were before him, in verse 31 he's actually worshipping the devil (Baal!) Ch 17 the prophet Elijah hides in fear from him, he blesses the socks off of Elijah who obeys him. Ahab the king in Ch 21 kills Naboth to steal his vineyard, etc. You know the Bible, and you must know that Ahab is the epitome of evil and rebelliousnes

  • "IT's interesting that you site Ahab"

    It's interesting to me

that it doesn't bother you at all

that your god sends lying spirits to lure people to their death.

  • it doesn't bother you at all

that your god sends lying spirits to lure people to their death

It bothers me more that people would rather die and go to hell than to acknowledge a Just and Holy God who delivered them from the eternal condemnation of their sins. In fact at times it really bothers me a lot. It even bothers me about you. I feel bad enough about it to break my heart. I am not joking or being smarmy or facitious. I mean it.

  • So I was right;

it doesn't bother you at all

that your god sends lying spirits to lure people to their death.

I would consider that to be a very important piece of information

about the god I was relying on for my eternal happiness.

  • god sends lying spirits to lure people to their death

They won't hear anything else. What can I do about that? Is it unjust for God to allow a lying spirit when the truth has been punished by an evil king? What do you want here? God should bow to an evil king?

  • "They won't hear anything else."

    Nonsense.

Ahab asked repeatedly for the truth,

but God sent a lying spirit to deceive him.

    Read the story.

  • Excellent post.

May it not be wasted on liars.

    God bless you gunsopely.

    ABM

  • Thanks Brother, God Bless you too!

  • "I'm very grieved that you have never tasted God!" Hebrews chapter 6:4 - 6 it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once enlightened— those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the power of the age to come and who then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people back to repentance. And it really is!
  • who then turn away from God.

It is impossible to bring such people back to repentance.

    Is it because of pride?

  • "Is it because of pride?"

No, it's because once your eyes are open

it would be irrational to walk back into the blindness.

  • Isn't this like saying, "I was the child of John and Mary Smith. I lived in their house, we had many holidays and birthdays together. Now I am emancipated from that and I no longer believe I ever had parents. True wisdom comes when we realize that we popped into existance without parents. I am now wise and mature because I know what freedom from my belief in parents means.

Just about as ludicrous as saying, "I have known God, and now I don't."

  • "Isn't this like saying,..."

    No, not at all.

    It's like saying

"I was taught that I was the child of a magical King

who watched over me and would one day trot up on a white horse

and rescue me from this evil world and make me a ruler,

but now I have discovered that that was a delusion and a lie."

    That's what it's like.

  • How have you discovered that this was a delusion and a lie? Where were you deluded and lied to?

  • "How have you discovered that this was a delusion and a lie?"

Just 40 years of daily bible study and experience.

The Bible is filled with things that are not true

and the church has invented lots more.

  • I don't think that the Bible is filled with things that are not true, but I know that churches like the people in them and who run them are fallible. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put your confidence in man.

  • "I don't think that the Bible is filled with things that are not true"

The Bible says that humans are made of dirt.

And that snakes and donkeys talk.

And that insects have 4 legs.

    And that bats are birds.

And that the earth is flat.

And that the sun revolves around the earth.

And that Pi = 3 (rather than 3.1416...)

And that animals appeared AFTER man but BEFORE woman.

Do you believe that all of these things are true?

  • Humans are made from the same stuff that is found in the earth, carbon, calcium, iron, water, etc. The Bible does not say that snakes and donkeys talk, it talks about one snake one time and one donkey another time. The snake was around before the fall and who knows what the world lost in the fall. Eve did't seem surprised by it. Also, the donkey was God's way to show Baalam that he was dumber than a donkey to keep trying to curse the Isrealites when God had told him No. He also ended up...

  • blessing the Isrealites from every hilltop around the valley they were camped in. Balaam was a real prophet who was interested in money and prestige. He knew he was doing wrong against God. He ended up blessing the Isrealites every time!

  • Guns, I know WHY the donkey talked,

    according to the story.

The WHY is not the issue.

Could you provide some EVIDENCE for talking beasts?

What with the flat earth and all

I'm not prepared to accept the unsupported testimony of scripture.

My grandpa once had a pet turtle

that played Edelweiss on the trombone,

    but never with witnesses present.

It really frustrated Pops that no one believed him.

  • Jesus made the blind to see, and the deaf to hear. There are many accounts of this that are legally usable in a court of law. (the 4 gospels) He raised people from the dead. Do I know how God made a donkey rebuke Balaam? No, I don't. I believe it because God is trustworthy. Balaam had to have been the one to tell us about it, who else was there?

  • "Jesus made the blind to see, and the deaf to hear"

The ONLY testimony to this is the Bible.

And the Bible says that insects have 4 legs,

    the earth is flat,

    bats are birds,

and it offers mutually exclusive accounts of Creation.

So let's not look to that book for evidence

until we settle the question of its reliablity

  • I'm surprised you don't see the validity in the testimony of the four different accounts of the gospel. You of all people should know that the Bible is not one book, but 66 books. I begin to see that I am wasting time talking to you. You should know some of this stuff if you were a teacher of the Bible.

  • " the validity in the testimony of the four different accounts of the gospel."

Well, Guns, Matthew claims that the baby Jesus was hauled off to Egypt to avoid the "slaughter of the innocents"

which no historical record has ever made mention of.

Mat made this claim "that the scriptures might be fulfilled",

but he was lying. Matthew 2:13-15

    Now have a look at Luke 2:21 - 42.

This describes Jesus' life and place of residence

from 8 days to 12 years old.

No opportunities for a side trip to Egypt.
