I was thinking of buying one here in Virginia the law here goes something like this if it is below 50cc has lights blinkers and the seat is 24inches off the ground should be able to ride it on the street without a license tags etc. someone help me out and tell me I got it wrong before I go and blow a grand on one of these. I don't want a reg motorcycle I don't want to pay insurance tags etc.

You may want to find out if the tag office will need a VIN number. Florida requires one and most of these choppers do not have a vin on the engine or tranny. The bike could meet the law requirements just for you to find out at the tag office you can't register it.

You can be any age to get one, I think minimum is 10 years old or 11 i don't know but I'm thinking of getting one, but The question is, where would you take a minichopper? In canada, it's illegal to drive it on the street, and there are cops everywhere over here, park is too boring, and there are no race tracks, only empty parking lots which is very rare.

they were sold as having little 49cc 4 stroke engines, but they have to be at least 70cc or 110cc. Importers claim only 49cc to avoid customs and highway regulations. From the outside, a 49cc engine looks just like a 110cc engine, so they get away with it.

I've got a 110cc chopper, and is a blast to ride, but I worry that kids banging around with no helmet, jandals and shorts are going to really mess themselves up if they fall off, then the whole thing will be banned ruining it for me.

My bike will hit about 70Kph on the flat, and I weigh about 100kg. These looked to be going about the same speed. Masses of fun, but don't be dickheads on the street eh. Save that for the track.
