  • Great Video. This one is for all the Carolina fans.

  • Everyone talks about Jordan's jumper but Worthy was lights out in this game!!

  • let the legend begin.....

  • Worthy was a beast on this team.

  • 9:24; I'm sure Fred Brown still has nightmares about that.

  • Brought tears to my eyes

  • haha pat ewing

  • ewing is retarded.doesnt he see the damm ball going down...

  • Damn, was James Worthy born with that beard?

  • WOW patrick ewing was with michael and worthy

  • This had to be one of the greatest games in NCAA finals history, At least this video makes it!!! Outstanding and UNC need to put that Heel Foot back on the side of them shorts!! Great VID!!!

  • damn i know they whooped his ass in the locker room for that last pass lmao

  • That last pass at 7 seconds was so bad...hahaha. threw the game away

  • dam no 3 pointer and players are way different now. there all muscles and fat

  • Everyone always recalls Jordan's iconic last shot from the wing, but his basket before that was absolutely incredible: a lightning fast drive from the wing, leaving his defender nailed to the floor, and finishing with a left-handed rainbow layup high off the glass in Ewing's face. Both of those shots were a glimpse of where Jordan was headed: to GOAT.

  • Ewing handed them the game with those goaltendings

  • did he seriously pass the ball to the wrong player with 8 seconds left in NCAA finials?

  • did he seriousily pass the ball to the wrong player with 8 seconds left in NCAA finials?

  • lets play count the nba players in this one game...unc, u had 3. georgetown, u had 3 (ewing, floyd and bill martin).. u had 3 hall of famers (ewing, mj and worthy).. how many times can we say that nowadays with these one and out kids?

  • Mental breakdown and pure pressure on the last play. wew

  • dude fuck the goaltending. not highlights at all

  • march madness baby

  • Yeah Ewing lost that game with the goal tending, but Jordan and Worthy were giving us a little foreshadowing of years to come.

  • im like waiting on jordan to start busting out a 60 point game and all i hear is WORTHY! EWING...another goaltending! lol those two were killing though

  • If they Would Have Had The Three Point Line.. It Probably Would've Been A Different Result Or Higher Score & Patrick Ewing Had Such A Pure Shot For A Big Man Which Is Missing In Todays Game - We Hardly See two or Three Great Players On One Team That Can Dominate a Game Anymore

  • Lol pat Ewing is so dumb. He had like 200 goaltending calls lmao. He was a beast tho

  • OMG... True Basketball

  • what a great player, james worthy

  • Thanks for the free points Patrick..

  • Man, Ewing was a grown ass man even back then

  • Two mistakes by the Georgetown playa. threw it to the wrong team, then didnt commit the foul right away, didnt know worthy was such a beast though

  • great game....worthy and ewing and looked awesome!!

  • 3 pointers werent around the ncaa till 1987

  • i have a coca-cola north carolina championship bottle from this game with the coke still in it :) bought it off ebay .... there still should be some for sale on there. $4 i think?

  • The 1982 Final was great and had three future Hall of Famers in Worthy, Ewing and Jordan

  • That's gotta be a horrible feeling for the guy who turned it over at the end. Suicide watch?

  • @chewjonsen And then he (Fred Brown) won the championship two years later. That's gotta be the greatest feeling.

  • Worthy was and is still one of my favorites players of all time, he was definitely the player of THIS game.

  • How can you get so many goal tending calls? lol that's crazy

  • 9.24 great pass, lmao

  • Super-Great Upload ChicagoBulls92! And you had 3 seconds to spare!

Worthy was the man in that game, and only he and Jordan played very well. Game was close all the way through.

Also in 1976 (I think it was) Dean Smith and John Thompson coached the USA college players to gold at the Olympics.

I'll save this to my Best of the 80s Playlist. Thanks!

  • Pat Ewing looks like he's 35 here

  • Georgetown hit a record ten from behind the 3-pont line this game. Amazing

  • Pat Ewing? Never heard of him.

  • @lsatep im australian and i dont even watch basketball and i know him.. Lol

    patrick ewing :)

  • Patrick Ewing had FIVE goaltends??? And UNC won by a point? Just think if Ewing had been a little smarter... Georgetown buries UNC early... Jordan doesn't hit the game-winning shot... he doesn't develop into the player he became. How interesting!

  • @sbeallvln

Ewing was goaltending on purpose early on. Think it was an interview, anyhow, they said he did it for the intimidating factor. It doesn't matter if the shot is going in or not, I'm going to block it anyway mentality.

  • @sbeallvln I agree totally. If Ewing played smarter, Hoyas would have won easily. Probably by about 6-10 points. Too bad. You know all of those goaltends would not have gone in.

  • I wish I was alive for the 80s. almost all of the championship games were wire games or upsets

  • who passes the ball to a person they dont even know its thier teamate

  • wheres the 3pt line?

  • I don't think they had 3 pointers

  • the 3 pt shot in college did no exist until 1987

  • @twelthstreetent The three point line was in part time that next year but didn't go into full effect until 1986!!

  • @tbone24100

not true they played with the 3point line in 1984.

  • Comment removed

  • @twelthstreetent

Three Pointers were implemented in 86-87

  • @sosdkny no it began in 1983-84

  • @mitchellcurtis61

    Definitely 86-87

  • @sosdkny oh it was from the ncaa in 1983 and then nba 86 so ur right mah bad

  • This was probably one of the best and most exciting NCAA basketball championship games ever played. Georgetown probably should have won--mental error. Ewing was unbelievable in this game--one of his best in the 4 years at Georgetown. Sleepy Floyd's up fake then double clutch jumper in the lane was one of the best plays of the game. Carolina would have been blown out w/o Worthy.

  • I'm just glad Worthy made it into the HOF as well a an all-time Top 50 selection because his career regular season numbers didn't quite reflect it (he was mainly the 3rd option for crying out loud-lol!!!), but when the playoffs came around he was THE GO-TO MAN on offense and in his prime only the very best defensively could ever contain him (or tried to, haha). What he did in the '88 finals against Detroit is now the stuff of legend. Made Magic look so damn good all those years...

    ;-)

  • back then no one wouldve thought jordan was better than worthy

  • dam worthy owned!

  • James Worthy.....big game James..he played his ass off in this game.....my favorite player while playing in high school...wore #42 because of Worthy, one of the 20 greatest players of all time, nobody could guard his first step, quickest in the history of the league

  • when wacthing u would have never thot jordan to become the greates ever

  • its funny to see m.j. not be taking part in the fun!

  • Thompson didn't mind Ewing's goaltends, because he thought it would create some intimidation on the part of Carolina players later on. Whether it was the right thing to do is debatable... most of the goaltended shots would have fallen anyway.

  • ewing was KILLIN those goaltends lol.

  • Eric Floyd is my cousin :D

  • @KGPF21 Really?!

  • Yep

  • brown did'nt cost them them the game..it's those stupid goal tending that ewing made..what a real idiot!..and thompson did not even tell patrick to cut that crap out...essentially its coach thompson's fault that did the hoyas in..

  • ewing had really dumb goal tending calls

  • awful turnover.

  • the last 15 seconds gave me chills.

  • Stupid pass by Floyd in the end

  • it wasn't Floyd, it was Craig Brown who made the bad pass

  • Fred Brown

  • the most important shot Michael Jordan made in his life.....and probably the most biggest shot in basketball history....MJ hitting the game winner for the '82 NCAA Championship! this shot and being cut from his high school team were the roots to what made Michael the greatest player of all time....but Ewing and Worthy were really ballin' good, I guess after Jordan made the shot....he surpassed their stardom!

  • nice vid...

  • Wow!! During that time Worthy and Ewing was the star players on their team. Jordan really improved after this championship. Thanks for the upload.

  • nice upload man
