ya man. thats called a bridge. in this particular case, he used an autofade along with a distorter. Check out the song Waves, by erol alkan and boys noize. They worked together to make it and it has several bridges throughout the song. very well done. just send me a message if you want anymore suggestions. all of the above... I'm really into boys noize, daft punk, justice, siriusmo, crystal castles etc. but ya, i make stuff sometimes too. i prefer a Korg over all synths. I've never actually released any tracks but i might post some online at some point.

I'm not pro, but some machine call it "CutOff". When the sound goes through a Low Pass filter (only sounds below a certain frequency passing through), this is the result. I like it too :)
