  • I play a Bousfield-designed Yamaha trombone.

  • He now plays a Yamaha, with a F attachment. He sounds even more incredible live.

  • unbelievable. so effortless - one of the best players out there

  • He played that excerpt from the trombone solo WALK WITH ME by Ray Steadman-Allen so beautifully! I wish to hear the full song.

  • That aside I think Ian Bousfields playing is brilliant ecpecially on his cd "Pryor Engangment".

  • Pryor Engagement is excellent. have you heard him play Bolero up an octave on the Yoshimatsu CD?

  • No I havent, it sounds good though! I really like his version of Blue Bells though what you just described sounds amazing!

  • Whats the official name of the cd where he plays Bolero. I gotta hear that!!

  • The CD is Yoshimatsu, Symphony number 4/ Trombone Concerto/Orion Machine. It's on the Chandos label and the excerpt of Bolero crops up on one of the tracks. can't remember which one though. The CD is of Bousfield with BBC Phil conducted by Sachio Fujioka.

  • Trigger horn is not Trombone!!!!!

  • An f attachemnt trombone, is sometimes called a trigger horn, it gives you the option of doing c in first and b natuarl in a flat second.

  • Trigger horn sounds like a dreadfull americanism!!

  • Really, thats wierd because I live in Frecnh Polynesia, lol!!

  • doesn't mean you can't use horrible americanisms!

  • If I remember right Ive heard that word used on the Britisih Trombone Forum for a interview with Dennis Wick, however you could be right.

  • It certainly is. It is all a matter of terminology. or trombonology....

  • Because he doesn't need it!!!

being principal trombone you do not use a trigger very often !!!

  • I wasnt doubting his playing or anything, Ian Bousfield is a virtuoso, I was just asking a question. Jesus, you dont have to get all offensive about it.

  • don't take thing in the wrong way, don't so sensitive!!!

it is true when I said when playing principal you don't use the trigger to often!!!

  • I think I get what your going for , however there are pieces out there like Mahler 3, that have huge trombone solos in the mid and low range. Mahler is riddled with b naturals, low e naturals, low fs, and middle cs.

  • This is Ian Bousfield? One question, for such a distinguished trombone soloist, why does he not play a trigger horn.

  • What is the name of this piece?

  • Walk With Me

    Ray Steadman/Allen
