Saw Katy Mattea here in St.Louis in October...front row center with my wife...we were 19 feet from her..it was great...great time..go see her if you get the chance...her band is pretty damned good too...
great job by two of the best....glad these country music singers from the 80's/early90's are still touring around the country.... its a shame what has happened to traditional country music.. I will see bogguss feb 17th in north georgia... she sometimes opens her show with this song or outbound plane... cant wait to see her......
I just found this great vesion of this song. Almost as good as Suzy Bogguss. Did anyone notice the guitar player behind Kathy. It's James Burton, one of the best in the world. He was Elvis's guitarist for quite a long time.
Each of these ladies has their own style but I have to say that although I love Patty's voice, Kathy has a much stronger voice with lots of brovato(sp?)...of course that's just my opinion. Thanks for posting and God Bless!
What a great version of this song! Thank you for posting it. I love the purity of both Patty Loveless and Kathy Mattea, two of the best singers of our time (in my opinion). Grew up listening to Judy Collins singing this song, love it so!
I remember this Christmas special. It was John Denver, Clint Black, Patty Loveless and Kathy Mattea jamming in a barn with Native Americans and friends looking on. It was obvious that the musicians enjoyed being together and it was as close to "reality TV' as they got back then. Thanks for posting. I will visit often, as this is one of my favorite tunes from that show.
