lol this vid amuses me, that stock is likly mild steel, why not just quench it in water so its no longer hot... plus... just use a pair of tongs when breaking the cut bit from the main bar..then it doesnt fall on the floor and it saves you some time picking it up off the floor
Smelting lead at high temps isnt a smart thing to do bconnie423, when you heat lead hot enough it vaporizes and has the potential to kill you, very similarly to zinc fumes. Smelting copper and aluminum are also dangerous, be safe and read up on smelting ALOT before trying anything.
trust me u can i tride it with just wood and a good solid rock and a splitting mal but i was 13 when i first did it im gonna try to smelt alumanum and copper cant do mutch with led cause my mom will yell at me
@WCBlacksmiths hi... I'm a beginning chem student and was wondering if you were using coal just because it gets really hot... or because it removes the oxides from the metal to get rid of that ashy look?
We are actually in the early stages of the training video we are also working on a site so that the videos can be downloaded for a set price or the option to have a low monthly membership that would allow members access to multiple videos and pdf files for each project.
This really is just a segment from the actual TV show that is on our local BLTV channel 6 we do have DVDs available and will have others in the future.Stay Tuned.
If you are in middle TN, come by and see these guys at the Warren County A&L Fair Grounds. They meet on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month. Great job on the video!
