@Clone4848, Yeah, Ilived in ferndale for many years from the ealry 1960s to early 1970s. The first Squadron Shop on John R. in Hazel park was a great place & hobby shop back then.
@Clone4848. That bridge was there for many years, since when I-75 was put in during the 1960s. This happened in the city of hazel park, not Detroit. A gasoline tanker lost control & went kaboom! I-75 at 9 Mile Rd. had to be closed for months & repaved along with the bridge having to be rebuilt. The large & thick steel girders in the bridge melted & the bridge collapsed.
I live at 13 Mile and ryan Rd and could see the smoke from here... bridge isn't more then a year old. Same thing happen to the I-94 Ramp a few yrs back....
I live right around there, all I saw was smoke outside of my house! I didn't know what was going on lol
