It is not in the wiring. This function is from a custom built electronic circuit that is integrated to the paddle shifter. You can contact me via my yahoo mail if you are interested in accquiring it.
Do you mind to share how the wiring is done? My E39 working fine with paddle shift using custom made wiring. However i have to slide the gear stick to Sport Mode +/- to activate. You video showing that you can engage/dis engage the Sport Mode by tapping both paddle shift at the same time is awesome.

It does not matter if you hold or free the throttle when you activate the paddle shifts.
