Not only was Shane one of the strongest men I ever met, he was one of the nicest people I have ever met. I had the pleasure of meeting him at John Inzers "greatest bench press in america contest" I only met him once, but I never forgot it, he made that good of an impression. He, like me, was 100% drug free. Nobody should have anything negative to say about this guy, if you do, your jealous, or just stupid, and obviously you never met him!
ten years ago i would have agreeded a powerlifter could beat a mma fighter i played college football and wrestled i benched about 500 squated over 650 powercleaned475 deadlifted 700 at 278 pounds i started taking jujitsu 5 years ago for the first 6 months 165 pound guys where treating me like a bitch now im 220 not as strong but i would destroy the old me
shane hamman is strong but compared to lifters from around the world in his weight class he really wasnt all that strong... btw good job mack(fire3bender) on making the team
If you had said that he wasn't the best weightlifter I wouldn't have disagreed, but since you said he wasn't all that strong I feel I have to object. In terms of sheer strength few (if any) beat him, especially in the squat. His 457,5lbs squat still stands as a world record in IPF. (Both Malanichev and Siders have squatted more now but not for different reasons they don't count as world records.) This is with gear far weaker than what's used today.
his lifts weren't at all what they needed to be when he was lifting he never was close to the best in the international circuit 105+ lifters lifted way more than he did
im correct look he placed like 12 in the olympics and in america we cant seem to get our lifters in the first second third places besides kendrick farris but that was because he won the b session meaning no medal but cheryl did win bronze once but she is injured so i wouldnt blame her if her lifts fell since then
so if "he aint all that strong" then I am assuming that you could lift more than him. right? I am assuming that most people in America could lift more than him because "he aint all that strong". If "he aint all that strong" you are implying that he is kind of weak so I would like to see your videos of you lifting more than him. After all, "he aint all that strong"!
no i am in a way lighter weightclass than him so i could not possibly lift his weights but in olympic weightlifting there are sinclairs putting everyone in a group allowing me to to be compared to him
with that said i am saying he is not strong his sinclair was as strong as that of our last male that went to the 2008 oly meaning he was weak in comparison to everyone and his 237kg clean and jerk was trash compared to the 254kg cleanjerks the other ppl were putting on the board 17kgs 37 pounds
he is strong im not saying he isnt strong in perspective to the defenition of strength but in the perspective of olympic weightlifting and international competetions where he fails to be as strong as the others many others
......but with that said i am "not all that strong", i just recently got a spot on an international olympic weightlfting team
In weightlifting.. Mabye, but he could have been one of the ultimate champs in powerlifting (not talking circus federations likeWPO). I think he would have been the best squater through time, perfect body for squats..
Yeah - but I was reffering only to him as a weightlifter. Powerlifting is not my cup of tea, as I I find it arctificial (the use of gear), and boring (slow, short motion movement).
